Derived autoequivalences of generalised Kummer varieties

    Get PDF
In this article, we construct new derived autoequivalences of generalised Kummer varieties. Together with Huybrechts-Thomas twists around Pn\mathbb{P}^n-objects, these are the only known examples of such symmetries.Comment: Final version. To appear in Math. Res. Let

Stability of the surface area preserving mean curvature flow in Euclidean space

We show that the surface area preserving mean curvature flow in Euclidean space exists for all time and converges exponentially to a round sphere, if initially the L^2-norm of the traceless second fundamental form is small (but the initial hypersurface is not necessarily convex).Comment: 17 page

Coping with Poorly Understood Domains: the Example of Internet Trust

    Get PDF
The notion of trust, as required for secure operations over the Internet, is important for ascertaining the source of received messages. How can we measure the degree of trust in authenticating the source? Knowledge in the domain is not established, so knowledge engineering becomes knowledge generation rather than mere acquisition. Special techniques are required, and special features of KBS software become more important than in conventional domains. This paper generalizes from experience with Internet trust to discuss some techniques and software features that are important for poorly understood domains

Tuning PSO Parameters Through Sensitivity Analysis

    Get PDF
In this paper, a first analysis of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method's parameters, using Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques, is performed, and important settings as well as interactions among the parameters, are investigated (screening)

Yield stability of soybean lines using addtive main effects and multiplicative interaction analysis - AMMI.

    Get PDF
The grain yield of 27 soybean lines was evaluated at three locations (Anhembi, Areão and Esalq) in Piracicaba, State of São Paulo, Brazil, during four crop years to study the effect of environment (E) on the adaptability and stability of the lines (G) using additive main effects and multiplicative interaction analysis (AMMI). Effects of the G, E, and GE interaction were found to be significant and accounted for 51, 12, and 36% of the variation, respectively. The first and only significant interaction principal component axis (IPCA1) accounted for 26% of the sum of squares due to original GE interaction. This concentrated the largest proportion of the pattern of GE interaction. Environments associated with Anhembi and Esalq proved more favorable, while Areão contributed negatively to the grain yield. However, Anhembi and Areão were more predictable for the crop years. USP 93-5082 and USP 93-5243 lines combined high adaptability and stability
