Demand side management studies on distributed energy resources: A survey
The number of distributed environmentally friendly energy sources and generators necessitates new operating methods and a power network board to preserve or even increase the efficiency and quality of the power supply. Similarly, the growth of matriculates promotes the formation of new institutional systems, in which power and power exchanges become increasingly essential. Because of how an inactive entity traditionally organizes distribution systems, the DG’s connection inevitably changes the system’s qualifications to which it is connected. As a consequence of the Distributed Generation, this presumption is currently legal and non-existent. This article glides on demand side management and analysis on distributed energy resources. Investigation of DSM along with zonal wise classification has been carried out in this survey. Its merits and applications are also presented.Universidad TecnolĂłgica de BolĂva
Minimizing residential distribution system operating costs through intelligently scheduled plug-in hybrid electric vehicle charging
Rising fuel prices and environmental concerns are threatening the stability of current electrical grid systems. These factors are pushing the automobile industry towards more effcient, hybrid vehicles. Current trends show petroleum is being edged out in favor of electricity as the main vehicular motive force. The proposed methods create an optimized charging control schedule for all participating Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles in a distribution grid. The optimization will minimize daily operating costs, reduce system losses, and improve power quality. This requires participation from Vehicle-to-Grid capable vehicles, load forecasting, and Locational Marginal Pricing market predictions. Vehicles equipped with bidirectional chargers further improve the optimization results by lowering peak demand and improving power quality

Energy Management for a User Interactive Smart Community: A Stackelberg Game Approach
This paper studies a three party energy management problem in a user
interactive smart community that consists of a large number of residential
units (RUs) with distributed energy resources (DERs), a shared facility
controller (SFC) and the main grid. A Stackelberg game is formulated to benefit
both the SFC and RUs, in terms of incurred cost and achieved utility
respectively, from their energy trading with each other and the grid. The
properties of the game are studied and it is shown that there exists a unique
Stackelberg equilibrium (SE). A novel algorithm is proposed that can be
implemented in a distributed fashion by both RUs and the SFC to reach the SE.
The convergence of the algorithm is also proven, and shown to always reach the
SE. Numerical examples are used to assess the properties and effectiveness of
