This paper is verifying of the effects on the electric power deregulation in Japan to the productivity of each electric power company by using the parametric and nonparametric test of the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) and the Inverted DEA (Inverted Data Envelopment Analysis). In this paper, the first step of the evaluation of the relative efficiencies and inefficiencies of each electric power company for a total of 21 years before and after electric power deregulation. The second step of the verification of the effects on the electric power deregulation in Japan to the productivity of each electric power company by using the parametric and nonparametric test of the DEA and the Inverted DEA are clarified. The verification of the effects on the electric power deregulation of the productivity of each electric power company was identified statistically

Redesigning Power Strip With Case Study: Security Information Use Of Products

There are 212 cases of fire from 2015-2018 that have occurred by electricity failure in Bandung City, those failures happen because of power strip misused by users. The power strip has a certain maximum electric current input from electric devices, misused happen when the electric devices that connect have exceeded the electrical current of the power strip. This situation can cause a fire because of the power strip overheat. From 50 user 68% of users do not know the maximum electric current that can be delivered by a certain power strip and 32% of users knowing the maximum electric current but do not know how to use it for everyday use. These research aims are to redesign security of use certain power strip, focus on user habit and user interface information. Keywords Product Development, Power Strip, Security of Us

The advantages of the all electric airplane are discussed. In the all electric airplane the generator is the sole source of electric power; it powers the primary and secondary flight controls, the environmentals, and the landing gear. Five candidates for all electric power systems are discussed and compared. Cost benefits of the all electric airplane are discussed

Electric Field Determination in DC Polymeric Power Cable in the Presence of Space Charge

The pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) technique was used to perform space charge measurements in polymeric power cables. However, for a practical dc power cable the electric field is affected by conductivity of the material, which is a function of both temperature and electric field. The coupled problems inflict difficulties to identify the electric field distribution in high voltage (HV) cables, which therefore poses threat to the reliability in operation of dc power cables. In this paper we proposed a method of determining electric field distribution in XLPE power cable, where under temperature gradient the existence of space charge density of the cable is determined by means of a modified PEA system. Commercial 11 kV ac XLPE power cable is applied and measured under an applied dc voltage of 80 kV. The space charge across the insulation was obtained and COMSOL Multiphysics software package is used to accurately determine the electric field distribution in the dc power cable by considering the influences of both the effects of temperature and electric field on the conductivity of the insulating material. Therefore, the results of the numerical modelling shall give us a clearer representation of the electric field distribution in HVDC cables

The problem is taken from the power industry, where providing electric energy to the consumers without interruption is of high importance. This problem is usually treated in the long-term exploitation of electric production systems. It requires determining the period for which generating units of an electric power utility should be taken offline for planned preventive maintenance over a time horizon, usually on a yearly basis. The objective is to minimize the total operating cost while a set of constraints is satisfied, with emphasis on realiability.Universidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech

    Electric propulsion and power

    Get PDF
The development of electric propulsion systems is discussed and the benefits of these systems to various space mission requirements are outlined. The characteristics and development status of 8 and 30 cm mercury ion thrusters and solar electric propulsion systems are reported. In addition the advantages of an inert gas thruster for Earth orbital missions are examined and include its capability for operation at higher values of specific impulse, the ease at which it can be integrated with space systems, and it's low pollution potential
