CGoDial: A Large-Scale Benchmark for Chinese Goal-oriented Dialog Evaluation
Practical dialog systems need to deal with various knowledge sources, noisy
user expressions, and the shortage of annotated data. To better solve the above
problems, we propose CGoDial, new challenging and comprehensive Chinese
benchmark for multi-domain Goal-oriented Dialog evaluation. It contains 96,763
dialog sessions and 574,949 dialog turns totally, covering three datasets with
different knowledge sources: 1) a slot-based dialog (SBD) dataset with
table-formed knowledge, 2) a flow-based dialog (FBD) dataset with tree-formed
knowledge, and a retrieval-based dialog (RBD) dataset with candidate-formed
knowledge. To bridge the gap between academic benchmarks and spoken dialog
scenarios, we either collect data from real conversations or add spoken
features to existing datasets via crowd-sourcing. The proposed experimental
settings include the combinations of training with either the entire training
set or a few-shot training set, and testing with either the standard test set
or a hard test subset, which can assess model capabilities in terms of general
prediction, fast adaptability and reliable robustness.Comment: EMNLP 202
Clan structure analysis and QCD parton showers in multiparticle dynamics. An intriguing dialog between theory and experiment
This paper contains a review of the main results of a search of regularities
in collective variables properties in multiparticle dynamics, regularities
which can be considered as manifestations of the original simplicity suggested
by QCD. The method is based on a continuous dialog between experiment and
theory. The paper follows the development of this research line, from its
beginnings in the seventies to the current state of the art, discussing how it
produced both sound interpretations of the most relevant experimental facts and
intriguing perspectives for new physics signals in the TeV energy domain.Comment: 118 pages, 48 figures; table of contents fixed for hyperre
Prosody takes over : a prosodically guided dialog system
In this paper first experiments with naive persons using the speech understanding and dialog system EVAR are discussed. The domain of EVAR is train table inquiry. We observed that in real human-human dialogs when the officer transmits the information the customer very often interrupts. Many of these interruptions are just repetitions of the time of day given by the officer. The functional role of these interruptions is determined by prosodic cues only. An important result of the experiments with EVAR is that it is hard to follow the system giving the train connection via speech synthesis. In this case it is even more important than in human-human dialogs that the user has the opportunity to interact during the answer phase. Therefore we extended the dialog module to allow the user to repeat the time of day and we added a prosody module guiding the continuation of the dialog
Influence Game of Dialogue on the Type of Counseling Communication Skills Students
This research is quantitative research experiments to test a technique applied in or affecting a particular State. The development process procedures Gestalt therapeutic counselling techniques to overcome anxiety dialog game communication based construct Burgon and Rufnerr based on the concept Joyce and Sill. Instruments used by Likert scale model. Test the validity of research instrument through validity test by three experts and also performed using Pearson Product Moment by correlating the item score, total score and the reliability test using Cronbach Alpha formula. Furthermore, the data obtained were analysed using Pearson Product Moment test to answer the hypothesis. The results of this research indicate that prior to the implementation of the application of game dialog (pre-test) the ability to communicate the students tend to be low with an average of 53 and after execution the application of game dialog (post-test) the development of communication skills of students has increased by an average of 59.6. From the results of hypothesis test obtained t_count = 2.773 and t_table= 1.833 so that the results obtained t-count > t-table (2.773> 1.833). Thus it can be concluded that the application dialog gaming services can impact the ability to communicate with students. The research was conducted on Senior High School students Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Indonesia
An Empirical Study of Topic Transition in Dialogue
Transitioning between topics is a natural component of human-human dialog.
Although topic transition has been studied in dialogue for decades, only a
handful of corpora based studies have been performed to investigate the
subtleties of topic transitions. Thus, this study annotates 215 conversations
from the switchboard corpus and investigates how variables such as length,
number of topic transitions, topic transitions share by participants and
turns/topic are related. This work presents an empirical study on topic
transition in switchboard corpus followed by modelling topic transition with a
precision of 83% for in-domain(id) test set and 82% on 10 out-of-domain}(ood)
test set. It is envisioned that this work will help in emulating human-human
like topic transition in open-domain dialog systems.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, 3 table
