During the last decades of the 21st century, there was an exponential
proliferation of data, which assigned a new responsibility to Information
Design. It has become a priority to organize, filter and visually
information in order to make sense of the data.
This paper explores the transformation of data into understanding
the union of qualitative (critical design) and quantitative (programming)
thinking. It is inserted in the field of communication and information
with the objective of apprehending and optimizing the way, from
perception of data to knowledge, through the application of these
to design exercises with different dimensions and levels of information.
Adjacent to this paradigm, it becomes inevitable to reflect on
aptitudes needed to translate and communicate complex data
use of a static or dynamic infographic artifact. Considering the
and communication of knowledge for the user, it is intended to
how the design can complement and benefit from the use of
both contextually and graphically, through the performance of
exercises, thus optimizing the act of creating infographics
