Cryptanalysis of an Efficient Signcryption Scheme with Forward Secrecy Based on Elliptic Curve
The signcryption is a relatively new cryptographic technique that is supposed
to fulfill the functionalities of encryption and digital signature in a single
logical step. Several signcryption schemes are proposed throughout the years,
each of them having its own problems and limitations. In this paper, the
security of a recent signcryption scheme, i.e. Hwang et al.'s scheme is
analyzed, and it is proved that it involves several security flaws and
shortcomings. Several devastating attacks are also introduced to the mentioned
scheme whereby it fails all the desired and essential security attributes of a

An Elliptic Curve-based Signcryption Scheme with Forward Secrecy
An elliptic curve-based signcryption scheme is introduced in this paper that
effectively combines the functionalities of digital signature and encryption,
and decreases the computational costs and communication overheads in comparison
with the traditional signature-then-encryption schemes. It simultaneously
provides the attributes of message confidentiality, authentication, integrity,
unforgeability, non-repudiation, public verifiability, and forward secrecy of
message confidentiality. Since it is based on elliptic curves and can use any
fast and secure symmetric algorithm for encrypting messages, it has great
advantages to be used for security establishments in store-and-forward

An Efficient identity based Multi-receiver Signcryption Scheme using ECC

Identity based cryptography from bilinear pairings
This report contains an overview of two related areas of research in cryptography
which have been prolific in significant advances in recent years. The first of
these areas is pairing based cryptography. Bilinear pairings over elliptic curves
were initially used as formal mathematical tools and later as cryptanalysis tools
that rendered supersingular curves insecure. In recent years, bilinear pairings
have been used to construct many cryptographic schemes. The second area
covered by this report is identity based cryptography. Digital certificates are
a fundamental part of public key cryptography, as one needs a secure way of
associating an agent’s identity with a random (meaningless) public key. In
identity based cryptography, public keys can be arbitrary bit strings, including

On Vulnerabilities of the Security Association in the IEEE 802.15.6 Standard
Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN) support a variety of real-time health
monitoring and consumer electronics applications. The latest international
standard for WBAN is the IEEE 802.15.6. The security association in this
standard includes four elliptic curve-based key agreement protocols that are
used for generating a master key. In this paper, we challenge the security of
the IEEE 802.15.6 standard by showing vulnerabilities of those four protocols
to several attacks. We perform a security analysis on the protocols, and show
that they all have security problems, and are vulnerable to different attacks
Lightweight certificateless and provably-secure signcryptosystem for the internet of things
International audienceIn this paper, we propose an elliptic curve-based signcryption scheme derived from the standardized signature KCDSA (Korean Certificate-based Digital Signature Algorithm) in the context of the Internet of Things. Our solution has several advantages. First, the scheme is provably secure in the random oracle model. Second, it provides the following security properties: outsider/insider confidentiality and unforgeability; non-repudiation and public verifiability, while being efficient in terms of communication and computation costs. Third, the scheme offers the certificateless feature, so certificates are not needed to verify the user's public keys.
