Requirements Catalog for Business Process Modeling Recommender Systems

    Get PDF
The manual construction of business process models is a time-consuming and error-prone task. To improve the quality of business process models, several modeling support techniques have been suggested spanning from strict auto-completion of a business process model with pre-defined model elements to suggesting closely matching recommendations. While recommendation systems are widely used and auto-completion functions are a standard feature of programming tools, such techniques have not been exploited for business process modeling although implementation strategies have already been suggested. Therefore, this paper collects requirements from different perspectives (literature and empirical studies) of how to effectively and efficiently assist process modelers in their modeling task. The condensation of requirements represents a comprehensive catalog, which constitutes a solid foundation to implement effective and efficient Process Modeling Recommender Systems (PMRSs). We expect that our contribution will fertilize the field of modeling support techniques to make them a common feature of BPM tools

Optimal Cost for Time-Aware Cloud Resource Allocation in Business Process

Cloud Computing infrastructures are being increasingly used for running business process activities due to its high performance level and low operating cost. The enterprise QoS requirements are diverse and different resources are offered by Cloud providers in various QoS-based pricing strategies. Furthermore, business process activities are constrained by hard timing constraints and if they are not executed correctly the enterprise will pay penalties costs. Therefore, finding the optimal Cloud resources allocation for a business process becomes a highly challenging problem. While optimizing the Cloud resource allocation cost, it is important to respect activities QoS requirements and temporal constraints and Cloud pricing strategies constraints. The aim of the present paper is to offer a method that assists users finding the optimal pricing strategy for Cloud resource used by business process activities. Basically, we use a binary/(0-1) linear program with an objective function under a set of constraints. In order to show its feasibility, our approach has been implemented and the results of our experiments highlight the effectiveness of our proposed solution

Animation production is in essence builds a solid foundation of visual and animation theory and practice in the development of traditional and digital animation. Animation production process had variety methods and rely on production operate requirement. The process of creating animation start out the same but the difference when make a disposition and additional of process and it is a part of cost production factor. This thesis addresses the development of the animation production process. The thesis conducted a case study on production process in completing an animated movie. The case study provides information on the development of animation production. The study found the quality and completed on schedule rely organized a division of tasks and also assisted by skill and tools were applied. The study examined the outcome of organized tasks division are affect to production works. The reference points here are production studios and institution in the region and supported by 24 methods listed from literature review. The animation production case study was practiced in Malaysia. It showed that some production studios need to adapt latest tools and new experience to compete with other international studios. Applying a case study approach, the thesis made use of interview with experts, as well consulting numerous web sites and clip videos. By conceptual the process with clarification of experts practice to endorse assessment applying in outlined the process development. This research contributes significantly to the existing body of knowledge in the field of animation industry within the context of creative economy. Finally the thesis makes recommendation for practitioners to assist a better position in the industry by reducing time consumers and budgeting while retaining quality and quantity
