New Lower Bounds for Constant Dimension Codes
This paper provides new constructive lower bounds for constant dimension
codes, using different techniques such as Ferrers diagram rank metric codes and
pending blocks. Constructions for two families of parameters of constant
dimension codes are presented. The examples of codes obtained by these
constructions are the largest known constant dimension codes for the given
parameters
Constant-Weight Gray Codes for Local Rank Modulation
We consider the local rank-modulation scheme in which a sliding window going over a sequence of real-valued variables induces a sequence of permutations. Local rank- modulation is a generalization of the rank-modulation scheme, which has been recently suggested as a way of storing information in flash memory.
We study constant-weight Gray codes for the local rank- modulation scheme in order to simulate conventional multi-level flash cells while retaining the benefits of rank modulation. We provide necessary conditions for the existence of cyclic and cyclic optimal Gray codes. We then specifically study codes of weight 2 and upper bound their efficiency, thus proving that there are no such asymptotically-optimal cyclic codes. In contrast, we study codes of weight 3 and efficiently construct codes which are asymptotically-optimal. We conclude with a construction of codes with asymptotically-optimal rate and weight asymptotically half the length, thus having an asymptotically-optimal charge difference between adjacent cells

On the List-Decodability of Random Linear Rank-Metric Codes
The list-decodability of random linear rank-metric codes is shown to match
that of random rank-metric codes. Specifically, an -linear
rank-metric code over of rate is shown to be (with high probability)
list-decodable up to fractional radius with lists of size at
most , where is a constant
depending only on and . This matches the bound for random rank-metric
codes (up to constant factors). The proof adapts the approach of Guruswami,
H\aa stad, Kopparty (STOC 2010), who established a similar result for the
Hamming metric case, to the rank-metric setting
Equidistant Codes in the Grassmannian
Equidistant codes over vector spaces are considered. For -dimensional
subspaces over a large vector space the largest code is always a sunflower. We
present several simple constructions for such codes which might produce the
largest non-sunflower codes. A novel construction, based on the Pl\"{u}cker
embedding, for 1-intersecting codes of -dimensional subspaces over \F_q^n,
, where the code size is is
presented. Finally, we present a related construction which generates
equidistant constant rank codes with matrices of size
over \F_q, rank , and rank distance .Comment: 16 page
