    ANALISIS AIR BALIK (BACKWATER) DI MUARA SUNGAI CIKAPUNDUNG AKIBAT TINGGI MUKA AIR SUNGAI CITARUM

    Sungai Cikapundung merupakan anak sungai dari Sungai Citarum mempunyai panjang total ± 28 km melewati Kab. Bandung Barat pada bagian hulu, Kota Bandung pada bagian tengah, dan Kab. Bandung pada bagian hilir yang bermuara di Sungai Citarum. Pada daerah muara selalu terjadi banjir apalagi setiap musim penghujan tiba. Peningkatan debit terjadi saat musim penghujan tiba. Semakin besar debit aliran maka semakin tinggi pula muka air aliran. Pertemuan debit Sungai Cikapundung dan Sungai Citarum yang besar menyebabkan adanya perbedaan tinggi muka air kedua sungai tersebut. Berdasarkan pada kondisi tersebut diketahui bahwa telah terjadi perbedaan tinggi muka air dimana tinggi muka air Sungai Citarum lebih tinggi dari Sungai Cikapundung yang berpotensi mengakibatkan arus balik (backwater). Oleh karena itu perlu diketahui panjang, luas genangan dan dalamnya arus balik (backwater) yang terjadi pada pertemuan antara kedua sungai tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisis profil aliran sungai Cikapundung dan Citarum menggunakan program Hydrologic Engineering Center-River Analysis System (HEC-RAS). Data yang digunakan pada sungai Cikapundung adalah data hujan dari tiga stasiun hujan, yaitu Margahayu I, Meteo, dan Dago Pakar yang dikalibrasi dengan data AWLR sungai Cikapundung-Pasirluyu. Data debit yang digunakan pada sungai Citarum adalah data AWLR sungai Citarum-Dayeuhkolot. Pada perhitungan terdeteksi adanya arus balik air akibat tinggi muka air sungai Citarum. Dari hasil perhitungan didapatkan panjang backwater 2,8805 km, luas genangan backwater 98.559,53 m2 dan kedalaman backwater yang paling dalam mencapai 0,65 m. ;---Cikapundung river is a sub river of Citarum river has total length ± 28 km through West Bandung Regency in upper course, Bandung City in the middle, and Bandung Regency in lower course that estuary in Citarum River. In rainy seasons, the flood always occur in estuary area. Disharge increase in rainy seasons. The water surface level increase as the discharge flow rises. The large discharge junction of Cikapundung and Citarum river caused the differences of water surface level in the both. Based on that condition there has been a difference water surface level where the water surface level of Citarum river is higher than Cikapundung river that potentially cause backwater. Therefore must be known the length, the puddled area of backwater and the height of backwater that occured in the junction of both river. The research is using the analysis of Cikapundung and Citarum river’s flow profile by using Hydrologic Engineering Center-River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) software. The data used on Cikapundung river is rainfall data from three rainfall station, there are Margahayu I, Meteo, dan Dago Pakar which calibrated with AWLR data of Cikapundung-Pasirluyu river. The discharge data used on Citarum river is Citarum-Dayeuhkolot AWLR data. The calculation detects that backwater is occured due to water surface level of Citarum river. From the calculation results show that the length of backwater is 2,8805 km, the puddled area of backwater 98.559,53 m2 and the deepest backwater is 0,65 m

    One of land use change impacts in the downstream of Citarum watershed is sedimentation. This study aimed to determine the total suspended solid and sediment load in the downstream of Citarum River. The Total Suspended Solid (TSS) samples were taken in three locations: the inlet of Jatiluhur reservoir, the outlet of Jatiluhur reservoir, and before the Citarum River estuary. The frequency of TSS samplings was twice a year i.e during the dry season and the rainy season at 2014. Analysis of TSS content was in accordance with SNI 06-6989.3-2004 using gravimetry method. The results showed that TSS at down stream Citarum River flow was 0.44 kg/m3, TSS at the inlet of Jatiluhur reservoir was 0.20 kg/m3, and TSS at the outlet of Jatiluhur reservoir was 0.02kg/m3. The total sediment in the inlet of Jatiluhur was 1.34 x 106ton/year, in the outlet of Jatiluhur reservoir was 0.14 x 106ton/year, and the flow sediment total to the Citarum River estuary was 1.79 x 106 ton/year. The Jatiluhur reservoir could reduce the potential for sediment total flowing into the sea as much as 1.20x 106tons/year. Area of sedimentation at the delta of Citarum River was 3,828.26 ha

    Art in The Midst Of Enviromental Conflict: On Tisna Sanjaya’s IBU Cigondewah

    In this paper, author will examine the work of artist Tisna Sanjaya titled IMAH BUDAYA (IBU) CIGONDEWAH) / CIGONDEWAH CULTURAL CENTER. Created in 2011, this work can be regarded as one of the breakthroughs done by Tisna Sanjaya as an artist. By posing as a building, this work has shown Sanjaya departure’s from previous approach which put the issue of politics and the environment as mere inspiration for his artworks, to become directly involve within the vortex of political and environmental conflict. To analyse IBU CIGONDEWAH as an artwork and its impact on the environment and society, author examine the symbolic aspects of this building and its physicality and functionality as a building. In order to explore its impact upon people and ecology, author also explores the programmes run by IBU CIGONDEWAH. The author also conducted interviews with stakeholders in the Cigondewah area (including Tisna Sanjaya himself, people of Batu Rengat, and the local authoritative) to get wider perspective on the artwork’s impact upon environment where the artwork is located. Cigondewah itself is well-known as centre of textile industries which regularly dumped their waste into its river, namely Cikendal-which also serves as a tributary of Citarum river. The latter recently become the centre of attention because of its pollution and how the river itself increasingly attracts political interests. This paper ulti-mately aimed to reconsider and dissect artistic practice as one of possible alternative approaches in solving the issue of ecology and political issues. This paper could be seen as an effort to evaluate artistic practice in com-prehensive manner, not only for its artistic/symbolic merit but also to dissect how the artwork or artistic/speculative practice could play a role in the conflict of everyday life.     Roles of Emotion in Negotiation Process: an Application of Drama Theory in Citarum Riverbasin Problem

    Citarum was a clean river which local people enjoyed fishing and recreation, however now its condition has already changed totally. Currently, the river can not provide its social services, such as clean water, electricity, fishing, tourisms, transportation, and public recreation. In rainy season, the color of river is brown because it contains mud from bald lands erosion along the river. In dry season, the color of river has changed to black and full of household wastes. In spite of many seminars were held, classical problems always arise. There are floods in rainy season but changes drastically to drought in dry season. There are some factors which cause the problem, i.e. illegal lodging and the population exploading in upper stream, population from industries in down stream, etc. this paper tries to see the Citarum problem from a different point of view, and starts from the belief that if stakeholders (or agents) in the Citarum problem collaborate to solve the problem, then Citarum river will be better and better. This paper analyzes negotiation process among the agents, and tries to describe how the negotiation process can end with collaboration. In the first step, drama theory framework is applied to model the negotiation process. Then, we simulate model by using SOARS (Spot Oriented Agent Role Similator). Finally, simulation results show that emotion of agents has important role to encourage collaboration; that is, the more the agents who have positive emotion (or tend to compromise), the less the number of impediments (or dilemma) to achieve collaboration

    Characterisation of Organic Carbon of Up Stream Citarum River Water from Domestic andIndustrial Waste Effluent. The local government of Citarum upstream area has conducted theriver cleaning program to increase Disolved Oxygen since 1991 until now. The program hasimpacted to installments of to wastewater treatment for 80% industrials in the Upper Citarumdrainage area declining the load of BOD5 wastewater. However most of waste water comingfrom Banung population have been treated in the collective wastewater treatment (IPAL) ofBojongsoang. Nevertheless, the low concentration of Dissolved oxygen which is under theminimum stream standard concentration, 3mg/l still becomes a problem until now. Anineffectiveness of improvement of the DO is caused by the treatment effluent BOD5 load fromdomestic and industrial wastewater and low awareness industrial wastewater aboutcharacteristics of river water quality . This research aimed to characterize the BOD oxidationrate and BOD5 regime of each river reach base on wastewater domestic or industrial characteristic.The result of this research can then be applied to build the priority of the load reduction ofBOD5 wastewater domestic or industrial in each reach of that river. The characteristic ofoxidation rate have investigated at influent point and water body of Upper Citarum River bymultivariate cluster observation. The oxidation rate was calculated by least-square methodfrom BOD data. The BOD observation was measured by BOD meter everyday for 5 days. Theresult shows that Curugjompong at 0 to 21st km and 36th km to Majalaya bridge ischaracterizedby an industrial sewage, while the upper Citarum at 21 to 36 Km is characterizedby an domesticsewage

    Persepsi pelajar tentang keberkesanan aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam amali kejuruteraan elektrik

    Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenalpasti persepsi pelajar terhadap amali kejuruteraan yang diamalkan di politeknik bagi subjek Praktikal Kejuruteraan Modul 1 (El003). Kebanyakkan teori pendidikan hanya menekankan kepada teori pembelajaran yang formal di dalam bilik daijah. Oleh itu tidak banyak yang kita tabu mengenai aktiviti pembelajaran pelajar melalui kaedah amali. Borang soal selidik telah digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk mengetahui persepsi pelajar tentang perlaksanaan amali kejuruteraan bagi subjek ini. Seramai 119 orang pelajar semester satu telah dipilih sebagai responden kajian. Data telah dianalisis menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 11.0. Analisis statistik diskriptif telah digunakan untuk menganalisis maklumat yang diperolehi. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa tahap kepuasan pelajar untuk aktiviti amali yang disediakan hanya berada ditahap pertengahan. Pelajar telah menyatakan aktiviti amali yang dijalankan dapat mencapai objektif pembelajaran dan pensyarah didapati dapat memberikan penerangan dan penyeliaan yang baik semasa ujikaji dijalankan. Dapatan kajian ini juga telah menunjukkan bahawa latihan amali yang diberikan dapat membantu pemahaman teori pelajar tetapi pelajar tidak bersetuju bahawa ujikaji yang disediakan bersesuaian dengan tahap pemahaman mereka
