Jointly Tracking and Separating Speech Sources Using Multiple Features and the generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli Framework
This paper proposes a novel joint multi-speaker tracking-and-separation
method based on the generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli (GLMB) multi-target
tracking filter, using sound mixtures recorded by microphones. Standard
multi-speaker tracking algorithms usually only track speaker locations, and
ambiguity occurs when speakers are spatially close. The proposed multi-feature
GLMB tracking filter treats the set of vectors of associated speaker features
(location, pitch and sound) as the multi-target multi-feature observation,
characterizes transitioning features with corresponding transition models and
overall likelihood function, thus jointly tracks and separates each
multi-feature speaker, and addresses the spatial ambiguity problem. Numerical
evaluation verifies that the proposed method can correctly track locations of
multiple speakers and meanwhile separate speech signals
Taking the bite out of automated naming of characters in TV video
We investigate the problem of automatically labelling appearances of characters in TV or film material
with their names. This is tremendously challenging due to the huge variation in imaged appearance of each character and the weakness and ambiguity of available annotation. However, we demonstrate that high precision can be achieved by combining multiple sources of information, both visual and textual. The principal novelties that we introduce are: (i) automatic generation of time stamped character annotation by aligning subtitles and transcripts; (ii) strengthening the supervisory information by identifying
when characters are speaking. In addition, we incorporate complementary cues of face matching and clothing matching to propose common annotations for face tracks, and consider choices of classifier which can potentially correct errors made in the automatic extraction of training data from the weak textual annotation. Results are presented on episodes of the TV series ‘‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer”
Audiovisual data fusion for successive speakers tracking
International audienceIn this paper, a human speaker tracking method on audio and video data is presented. It is applied to con- versation tracking with a robot. Audiovisual data fusion is performed in a two-steps process. Detection is performed independently on each modality: face detection based on skin color on video data and sound source localization based on the time delay of arrival on audio data. The results of those detection processes are then fused thanks to an adaptation of bayesian filter to detect the speaker. The robot is able to detect the face of the talking person and to detect a new speaker in a conversation
