Jost Functions and Jost Solutions for Jacobi Matrices, I. A Necessary and Sufficient Condition for Szego Asymptotics
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a Jacobi matrix to produce
orthogonal polynomials with Szeg\H{o} asymptotics off the real axis. A key idea
is to prove the equivalence of Szeg\H{o} asymptotics and of Jost asymptotics
for the Jost solution. We also prove convergence of Szeg\H{o} asymptotics

Beta-gamma tail asymptotics
We compute the tail asymptotics of the product of a beta random variable and
a generalized gamma random variable which are independent and have general
parameters. A special case of these asymptotics were proved and used in a
recent work of Bubeck, Mossel, and R\'acz in order to determine the tail
asymptotics of the maximum degree of the preferential attachment tree. The
proof presented here is simpler and highlights why these asymptotics hold.Comment: 6 page

In this expository article we describe the asymptotics of certain Fredholm
determinants which provide solutions to the cylindrical Toda equations, and we
explain how these asymptotics are derived. The connection with Fredholm
determinants arising in the theory of random matrices, and their asymptotics,

Small deviations of iterated processes in space of trajectories
We derive logarithmic asymptotics of probabilities of small deviations for
iterated processes in the space of trajectories. We find conditions under which
these asymptotics coincide with those of processes generating iterated
