    Challenges of Computer Network Infrastructure in Accessing Electronic Information Resources in Academic Libraries.

    The statement of the problem in this study is concerned with challenges of paradigm shifting in libraries practices from only using conventional printed information resources to using both printed and electronic information resources. Thus, electronic information resources have necessitated librarians, computer scientists, and information technologists to take many initiatives. The research has attempted to study challenges of computer network infrastructure in relation to accessing of e-resources by information seekers in academic areas. The specific objectives of this study were set to assess challenges of e-resources access, identify challenges of network infrastructure installation, policies, as well as pricing in academic library arena. This case study was done at Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences, St. Augustine University of Tanzania and Institute of Rural Development Planning which comprised 10350 people. Cross-sectional survey approach was employed to collect data whereby measurements tools used were semi-structured interviews, documentary observations and questionnaires. Qualitative data collection methods were utilized in this study due to the fact that most cases were asked about phenomena, preferences, attitudes and opinions while quantitative data collection methods in least cases asked about quantities and values. Hence triangulation was used so as to bring about trustworthy findings. Qualitative tools which were used were documentary, interviews, and observations. Quantitative tool which was used was questionnaires. In this respect, data analysis and presentation were done by using descriptive statistics whereby central tendency and variability were used to explain the characteristics of the sample population
