BPM, Agile, and Virtualization Combine to Create Effective Solutions
The rate of change in business and government is accelerating. A number of
techniques for addressing that change have emerged independently to provide for
automated solutions in this environment. This paper will examine three of the
most popular of these technologies-business process management, the agile
software development movement, and infrastructure virtualization-to expose the
commonalities in these approaches and how, when used together, their combined
effect results in rapidly deployed, more successful solutions
Incorporating Agile with MDA Case Study: Online Polling System
Nowadays agile software development is used in greater extend but for small
organizations only, whereas MDA is suitable for large organizations but yet not
standardized. In this paper the pros and cons of Model Driven Architecture
(MDA) and Extreme programming have been discussed. As both of them have some
limitations and cannot be used in both large scale and small scale
organizations a new architecture has been proposed. In this model it is tried
to opt the advantages and important values to overcome the limitations of both
the software development procedures. In support to the proposed architecture
the implementation of it on Online Polling System has been discussed and all
the phases of software development have been explained.Comment: 14 pages,1 Figure,1 Tabl
Algorithms for advance bandwidth reservation in media production networks
Media production generally requires many geographically distributed actors (e.g., production houses, broadcasters, advertisers) to exchange huge amounts of raw video and audio data. Traditional distribution techniques, such as dedicated point-to-point optical links, are highly inefficient in terms of installation time and cost. To improve efficiency, shared media production networks that connect all involved actors over a large geographical area, are currently being deployed. The traffic in such networks is often predictable, as the timing and bandwidth requirements of data transfers are generally known hours or even days in advance. As such, the use of advance bandwidth reservation (AR) can greatly increase resource utilization and cost efficiency. In this paper, we propose an Integer Linear Programming formulation of the bandwidth scheduling problem, which takes into account the specific characteristics of media production networks, is presented. Two novel optimization algorithms based on this model are thoroughly evaluated and compared by means of in-depth simulation results
A Study to Optimize Heterogeneous Resources for Open IoT
Recently, IoT technologies have been progressed, and many sensors and
actuators are connected to networks. Previously, IoT services were developed by
vertical integration style. But now Open IoT concept has attracted attentions
which achieves various IoT services by integrating horizontal separated devices
and services. For Open IoT era, we have proposed the Tacit Computing technology
to discover the devices with necessary data for users on demand and use them
dynamically. We also implemented elemental technologies of Tacit Computing. In
this paper, we propose three layers optimizations to reduce operation cost and
improve performance of Tacit computing service, in order to make as a
continuous service of discovered devices by Tacit Computing. In optimization
process, appropriate function allocation or offloading specific functions are
calculated on device, network and cloud layer before full-scale operation.Comment: 3 pages, 1 figure, 2017 Fifth International Symposium on Computing
