    Organizational level of public transport controlling in the public transport system

    Controlling of public transport is a newly developed term just in connection with the IDS development. It is and it will be a direct support of the functioning transport system in the region, namely the support of interconnections of individual lines and services of individual transport operators. Transport technologists who have introduced this term, however, use it to cover all what is connected with the development of public transport in regions. This means a plan of the lines, awarding of contracts to transport operators, creation, monitoring of JŘ adherence, payments in the public transport, monitoring of provable losses, etc., but also the planning and the development of transport routes, transport terminals and interchange junctions. This very general term is not suitable from the viewpoint of creation of information and telematic support. This has already been highlighted by the solvers of the project entitled "Plans of ITS development in the link to the performance of state administration and local government", and therefore they have proposed a necessity of division of this term from the viewpoint of the existing, but especially the future organisation levels in the field of planning, actual organisation and control of public transport in regions.     Towards an Iterative Algorithm for the Optimal Boundary Coverage of a 3D Environment

    This paper presents a new optimal algorithm for locating a set of sensors in 3D able to see the boundaries of a polyhedral environment. Our approach is iterative and is based on a lower bound on the sensors' number and on a restriction of the original problem requiring each face to be observed in its entirety by at least one sensor. The lower bound allows evaluating the quality of the solution obtained at each step, and halting the algorithm if the solution is satisfactory. The algorithm asymptotically converges to the optimal solution of the unrestricted problem if the faces are subdivided into smaller part

    The article analysis the women labor force participation in Malaysia. The rapid absorption of women into the labor market has been influenced by several factors. The rapid economic growth was due largely to important growth in the manufacturing and services sectors, where substantial and proportionally larger increase of female workers has been registered. Among all sectors of the economy, the manufacturing sector has recorded the highest growth rate during the last decade. The increase in the female labor force participation may also be attributable to improving economic incentives in employment and policies favoring the employment of women. In addition, the combined effects of increased years of schooling, access to family planning services, improved maternal and child care, leading to arise in the average age at marriage, have allowed women to take advantage of the increased employment opportunities

    Symbol Emergence in Robotics: A Survey

    Humans can learn the use of language through physical interaction with their environment and semiotic communication with other people. It is very important to obtain a computational understanding of how humans can form a symbol system and obtain semiotic skills through their autonomous mental development. Recently, many studies have been conducted on the construction of robotic systems and machine-learning methods that can learn the use of language through embodied multimodal interaction with their environment and other systems. Understanding human social interactions and developing a robot that can smoothly communicate with human users in the long term, requires an understanding of the dynamics of symbol systems and is crucially important. The embodied cognition and social interaction of participants gradually change a symbol system in a constructive manner. In this paper, we introduce a field of research called symbol emergence in robotics (SER). SER is a constructive approach towards an emergent symbol system. The emergent symbol system is socially self-organized through both semiotic communications and physical interactions with autonomous cognitive developmental agents, i.e., humans and developmental robots. Specifically, we describe some state-of-art research topics concerning SER, e.g., multimodal categorization, word discovery, and a double articulation analysis, that enable a robot to obtain words and their embodied meanings from raw sensory--motor information, including visual information, haptic information, auditory information, and acoustic speech signals, in a totally unsupervised manner.
