Neuro-Fuzzy Computing System with the Capacity of Implementation on Memristor-Crossbar and Optimization-Free Hardware Training
In this paper, first we present a new explanation for the relation between
logical circuits and artificial neural networks, logical circuits and fuzzy
logic, and artificial neural networks and fuzzy inference systems. Then, based
on these results, we propose a new neuro-fuzzy computing system which can
effectively be implemented on the memristor-crossbar structure. One important
feature of the proposed system is that its hardware can directly be trained
using the Hebbian learning rule and without the need to any optimization. The
system also has a very good capability to deal with huge number of input-out
training data without facing problems like overtraining.Comment: 16 pages, 11 images, submitted to IEEE Trans. on Fuzzy system
Possibilistic and fuzzy clustering methods for robust analysis of non-precise data
This work focuses on robust clustering of data affected by imprecision. The imprecision is managed in terms of fuzzy sets. The clustering process is based on the fuzzy and possibilistic approaches. In both approaches the observations are assigned to the clusters by means of membership degrees. In fuzzy clustering the membership degrees express the degrees of sharing of the observations to the clusters. In contrast, in possibilistic clustering the membership degrees are degrees of typicality. These two sources of information are complementary because the former helps to discover the best fuzzy partition of the observations while the latter reflects how well the observations are described by the centroids and, therefore, is helpful to identify outliers. First, a fully possibilistic k-means clustering procedure is suggested. Then, in order to exploit the benefits of both the approaches, a joint possibilistic and fuzzy clustering method for fuzzy data is proposed. A selection procedure for choosing the parameters of the new clustering method is introduced. The effectiveness of the proposal is investigated by means of simulated and
real-life data
On Time-dependent Collapsing Branes and Fuzzy Odd-dimensional Spheres
We study the time-dependent dynamics of a collection of N
collapsing/expanding D0-branes in type IIA String Theory. We show that the
fuzzy-S^3 and S^5 provide time-dependent solutions to the Matrix Model of
D0-branes and its DBI generalisation. Some intriguing cancellations in the
calculation of the non-abelian DBI Matrix actions result in the fuzzy-S^3 and
S^5 having the same dynamics at large-N. For the Matrix model, we find analytic
solutions describing the time-dependent radius, in terms of Jacobi elliptic
functions. Investigation of the physical properties of these configurations
shows that there are no bounces for the trajectory of the collapse at large-N.
We also write down a set of useful identities for fuzzy-S^3, fuzzy-S^5 and
general fuzzy odd-spheres.Comment: 35 pages, latex; v2: discussion in Appendix B on the large-N limit of

Development of accident prediction model by using artificial neural network (ANN)
Statistical or crash prediction model have frequently been used in highway
safety studies. They can be used in identify major contributing factors or establish
relationship between crashes and explanatory accident variables. The
measurements to prevent accident are from the speed reduction, widening the
roads, speed enforcement, or construct the road divider, or other else. Therefore,
the purpose of this study is to develop an accident prediction model at federal road
FT 050 Batu Pahat to Kluang. The study process involves the identification of
accident blackspot locations, establishment of general patterns of accident, analysis
of the factors involved, site studies, and development of accident prediction model
using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) applied software which named
NeuroShell2. The significant of the variables that are selected from these accident
factors are checked to ensure the developed model can give a good prediction
results. The performance of neural network is evaluated by using the Mean
Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The study result showed that the best neural
network for accident prediction model at federal road FT 050 is 4-10-1 with 0.1
learning rate and 0.2 momentum rate. This network model contains the lowest
value of MAPE and highest value of linear correlation, r which is 0.8986. This
study has established the accident point weightage as the rank of the blackspot
section by kilometer along the FT 050 road (km 1 – km 103). Several main
accident factors also have been determined along this road, and after all the data
gained, it has successfully analyzed by using artificial neural network
