A new security architecture for SIP based P2P computer networks
Many applications are transferred from C/S (Client/Server) mode to P2P (Peer-to-Peer) mode such as VoIP (Voice over IP). This paper presents a new security architecture, i.e. a trustworthy authentication algorithm of peers, for Session Initialize Protocol (SIP) based P2P computer networks. A mechanism for node authentication using a cryptographic primitive called one-way accumulator is proposed to secure the P2P SIP computer networks. It leverages the distributed nature of P2P to allow for distributed resource discovery and rendezvous in a SIP network, thus eliminating (or at least reducing) the need for centralized servers. The distributed node authentication algorithm is established for the P2P SIP computer networks. The corresponding protocol has been implemented in our P2P SIP experiment platform successfully. The performance study has verified the proposed distributed node authentication algorithm for SIP based P2P computer networks
Improved Attack on the Cellular Authentication and Voice Encryption Algorithm
We present new cryptanalysis of the Telecommunications hash algorithm known as Cellular Authentication and Voice Encryption Algorithm (CAVE). The previous guess-and-determine style reconstruction attack requires (resp. ) evaluations of CAVE-4 (resp. CAVE-8) to find a single valid pre-image (one which satisfies the input redundancy). Here we present a new attack that finds emph{all} valid pre-images with effort equivalent to around evaluations of the algorithm for both CAVE-4 and CAVE-8
Recursive Code Construction for Random Networks
A modification of Koetter-Kschischang codes for random networks is presented
(these codes were also studied by Wang et al. in the context of authentication
problems). The new codes have higher information rate, while maintaining the
same error-correcting capabilities. An efficient error-correcting algorithm is
proposed for these codes.Comment: Submitted to IEEE Transactions on Information Theor
Security problems with a chaos-based deniable authentication scheme
Recently, a new scheme was proposed for deniable authentication. Its main
originality lied on applying a chaos-based encryption-hash parallel algorithm
and the semi-group property of the Chebyshev chaotic map. Although original and
practicable, its insecurity and inefficiency are shown in this paper, thus
rendering it inadequate for adoption in e-commerce.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure, latex forma
A New Algorithm for Solving Ring-LPN with a Reducible Polynomial
The LPN (Learning Parity with Noise) problem has recently proved to be of
great importance in cryptology. A special and very useful case is the RING-LPN
problem, which typically provides improved efficiency in the constructed
cryptographic primitive. We present a new algorithm for solving the RING-LPN
problem in the case when the polynomial used is reducible. It greatly
outperforms previous algorithms for solving this problem. Using the algorithm,
we can break the Lapin authentication protocol for the proposed instance using
a reducible polynomial, in about 2^70 bit operations

The Meeting of Acquaintances: A Cost-efficient Authentication Scheme for Light-weight Objects with Transient Trust Level and Plurality Approach
Wireless sensor networks consist of a large number of distributed sensor
nodes so that potential risks are becoming more and more unpredictable. The new
entrants pose the potential risks when they move into the secure zone. To build
a door wall that provides safe and secured for the system, many recent research
works applied the initial authentication process. However, the majority of the
previous articles only focused on the Central Authority (CA) since this leads
to an increase in the computation cost and energy consumption for the specific
cases on the Internet of Things (IoT). Hence, in this article, we will lessen
the importance of these third parties through proposing an enhanced
authentication mechanism that includes key management and evaluation based on
the past interactions to assist the objects joining a secured area without any
nearby CA. We refer to a mobility dataset from CRAWDAD collected at the
University Politehnica of Bucharest and rebuild into a new random dataset
larger than the old one. The new one is an input for a simulated authenticating
algorithm to observe the communication cost and resource usage of devices. Our
proposal helps the authenticating flexible, being strict with unknown devices
into the secured zone. The threshold of maximum friends can modify based on the
optimization of the symmetric-key algorithm to diminish communication costs
(our experimental results compare to previous schemes less than 2000 bits) and
raise flexibility in resource-constrained environments.Comment: 27 page
