OBOME - Ontology based opinion mining in UBIPOL
Ontologies have a special role in the UBIPOL system, they help to structure the policy related context, provide conceptualization for policy domain and use in the opinion mining process. In this work we presented a system called Ontology Based Opinion Mining Engine (OBOME) for analyzing a domain-specific opinion corpus by first assisting the user with the creation of a domain ontology from the corpus. We determined the polarity of opinion on the various domain aspects. In the former step, the policy domain aspect has are identified (namely which policy category is represented by the concept). This identification is supported by the policy modelling ontology, which describe the most important policy â related classes and structure. Then the most informative documents from the corpus are extracted and asked the user to create a set of aspects and related keywords using these documents. In the latter step, we used the corpus specific ontology to model the domain and extracted aspect-polarity associations using grammatical dependencies between words. Later, summarized results are shown to the user to analyze and store. Finally, in an offline process policy modeling ontology is updated
Product Configuration Systems: State of the Art, Conceptualization and Extensions
Product configurators are considered to be among the most successful applications of artificial intelligence technology. In this paper, we determine different conceptualizations of configurators and condense them in a comprehensive morphological box, which should support configurator designers as well as decision makers in selecting the right system. The analysis of the criteria according to which configurators that are designed thus far reveals a neglect of the front-end perspective. Therefore, it is relevant to extend configurators with a front-end component assisting customers during product configuration through advisory. We develop a framework describing the main requirements on an advisory system and propose the technical infrastructure for its implementation. Finally, the advisory system and the configurator are integrated into a comprehensive interaction system.product configurators; advisory system; product personalization
A Process Framework for Semantics-aware Tourism Information Systems
The growing sophistication of user requirements in tourism due to the advent of new technologies such as the Semantic Web and mobile computing has imposed new possibilities for improved intelligence in Tourism Information Systems (TIS). Traditional software engineering and web engineering approaches cannot suffice, hence the need to find new product development approaches that would sufficiently enable the next generation of TIS. The next generation of TIS are expected among other things to: enable
semantics-based information processing, exhibit natural language capabilities, facilitate inter-organization exchange of information in a seamless way, and
evolve proactively in tandem with dynamic user requirements. In this paper, a product development approach called Product Line for Ontology-based Semantics-Aware Tourism Information Systems (PLOSATIS) which is a novel
hybridization of software product line engineering, and Semantic Web engineering concepts is proposed. PLOSATIS is presented as potentially effective, predictable and amenable to software process improvement initiatives
Past, present and future of information and knowledge sharing in the construction industry: Towards semantic service-based e-construction
The paper reviews product data technology initiatives in the construction sector and provides a synthesis of related ICT industry needs. A comparison between (a) the data centric characteristics of Product Data Technology (PDT) and (b) ontology with a focus on semantics, is given, highlighting the pros and cons of each approach. The paper advocates the migration from data-centric application integration to ontology-based business process support, and proposes inter-enterprise collaboration architectures and frameworks based on semantic services, underpinned by ontology-based knowledge structures. The paper discusses the main reasons behind the low industry take up of product data technology, and proposes a preliminary roadmap for the wide industry diffusion of the proposed approach. In this respect, the paper stresses the value of adopting alliance-based modes of operation
Online visualization of bibliography Using Visualization Techniques
Visualization is a concept where we can represent some raw data in the form of graphs, images, charts, etc. which will be very helpful for the end-user to correlate and be able to understand the relationships between the data elements in a single screen. Representing the bibliographic information of the computer science journals and proceedings using Visualization technique would help user choose a particular author and navigate through the hierarchy and find out what papers the author has published, the keywords of the papers, what papers cite them, the co-authors along with the main author, and how many papers are published by the author selected by the user and so on in a single page. These information is right now present in a scattered manner and the user has to search on websites like Google Scholar [1], Cite Seer [2] to get these bibliographic records. By the use of visualization techniques, all the information can be accessed on a single page by having a graph like points on the page, where the user can search for a particular author and the author and its co-authors are represented in the form of points. The goal of this project is to enhance current bibliography web services with an intuitive interactive visualization interface and to improve user understanding and conceptualization. In this project, we develop a simple web-interface which will take a search query from the user and find the related information like author\u27s name, the co-authors, number of papers published by him, related keywords, citations referred etc. The project uses the bibliographic records which are available as XML files from the Citeseer database[2], extracts the data into the database and then queries the database for the results using a web service. The data which is extracted is then presented visually to allow the user to conceptualize the results in a better way and help him/her find the articles of interest with utmost ease. In addition the user can interactively navigate the visual results to get more information about any of the article or the author displayed. So here we present both paper centric view and author centric view to the user by representing data in terms of graphs. The nodes in the graphs obtained for paper centric views and author centric views are color coded based on the paperâs weight parameter ( popularity of the paper ). For the paper centric view, the papers which are referring other papers are represented by providing a directed arrow from referred paper to referenced paper. Overall the idea here was to represent this related data in the form of a tree, so that the user can correlate all the data and get the relationships between them
A User-Centered Concept Mining System for Query and Document Understanding at Tencent
Concepts embody the knowledge of the world and facilitate the cognitive
processes of human beings. Mining concepts from web documents and constructing
the corresponding taxonomy are core research problems in text understanding and
support many downstream tasks such as query analysis, knowledge base
construction, recommendation, and search. However, we argue that most prior
studies extract formal and overly general concepts from Wikipedia or static web
pages, which are not representing the user perspective. In this paper, we
describe our experience of implementing and deploying ConcepT in Tencent QQ
Browser. It discovers user-centered concepts at the right granularity
conforming to user interests, by mining a large amount of user queries and
interactive search click logs. The extracted concepts have the proper
granularity, are consistent with user language styles and are dynamically
updated. We further present our techniques to tag documents with user-centered
concepts and to construct a topic-concept-instance taxonomy, which has helped
to improve search as well as news feeds recommendation in Tencent QQ Browser.
We performed extensive offline evaluation to demonstrate that our approach
could extract concepts of higher quality compared to several other existing
methods. Our system has been deployed in Tencent QQ Browser. Results from
online A/B testing involving a large number of real users suggest that the
Impression Efficiency of feeds users increased by 6.01% after incorporating the
user-centered concepts into the recommendation framework of Tencent QQ Browser.Comment: Accepted by KDD 201
