    Internet has become a vital part of our lives. The number of Internet connected devices are increasing every day and approximate there will be 34 billion IoT devices by 2020. It is observed that security is very weak in these devices and can be easily compromised by hackers as some manufactures failed to implement basic security. Current devices use standards that are easy to implement and works for most forms of communications and storage. There is no such standard solution that will work on every device within the Internet of Things, because of the varied constraints between different devices; resulting in classifications within the Internet of Things. This study addresses security challenges in the Internet of Things (IoT); first will discuss the IoT evolution, architecture and its applications in industries. Further, classify and examine privacy threats, including survey, and pointing out the challenges that need to be overcome to ensure that the Internet of Things becomes a reality

    The Internet of Things (IoT) has developed as a disruptive technology with wide-ranging applications across several sectors, enabling the connecting of devices and the acquisition of substantial volumes of data. Nevertheless, the rapid expansion of networked gadgets has generated substantial apprehensions pertaining to security and energy administration. This survey paper offers a detailed examination of the present state of research and advancements in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) security and energy management. The work places special emphasis on the use of hashing algorithms in this context. The security of the Internet of Things (IoT) is a crucial element in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data inside IoT environments. Hashing algorithms have gained prominence as a fundamental tool for enhancing IoT security. This survey reviews the state of the art in cryptographic hashing techniques and their application in securing IoT devices, data, and communication. Furthermore, the efficient management of energy resources is essential to prolong the operational lifespan of IoT devices and reduce their environmental impact. Hashing algorithms are also instrumental in optimizing energy consumption through data compression, encryption, and authentication. This survey explores the latest advancements in energy-efficient IoT systems and how hashing algorithms contribute to energy management strategies. Through a comprehensive analysis of recent research findings and technological advancements, this survey identifies key challenges and open research questions in the fields of IoT security and energy management based on hashing algorithms. It provides valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to further advance the state of the art in these critical IoT domains

    Towards Bayesian-Based Trust Management for Insider Attacks in Healthcare Software-Defined Networks

The medical industry is increasingly digitalized and Internet-connected (e.g., Internet of Medical Things), and when deployed in an Internet of Medical Things environment, software-defined networks (SDNs) allow the decoupling of network control from the data plane. There is no debate among security experts that the security of Internet-enabled medical devices is crucial, and an ongoing threat vector is insider attacks. In this paper, we focus on the identification of insider attacks in healthcare SDNs. Specifically, we survey stakeholders from 12 healthcare organizations (i.e., two hospitals and two clinics in Hong Kong, two hospitals and two clinics in Singapore, and two hospitals and two clinics in China). Based on the survey findings, we develop a trust-based approach based on Bayesian inference to figure out malicious devices in a healthcare environment. Experimental results in either a simulated and a real-world network environment demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our proposed approach regarding the detection of malicious healthcare devices, i.e., our approach could decrease the trust values of malicious devices faster than similar approaches

    The Internet of Things (IoT), an emerging global Internet-based technical architecture facilitating the exchange of information, goods and services in the internet world has an impact on the security and privacy of the involved stakeholders. Measures ensuring the architectures resilience to attacks, data authentication, and access control and client privacy need to be established. This paper includes a survey of IoT and various security issues related to it. Furthermore, out of all security issues, concern over data authentication and transfer is taken into consideration. Here we will discuss the idea for two levels of security in form of two different approaches i.e. Advance Encryption Standards (AES) and the Steganography approach via an image and the simulating of these two logics in the MATLAB
