Deep-Fake Technique is a new scientific method that uses Artificial-Intelligince to make fake videos with an affect of facial expressions and coordinated movement of lips. This technology is frequently employed in a variety of contexts with various goals. Deep-Fake technology is being used to generate an extremely realistic fake video that can be widely distributed to promote false information or fake news about any celebrity or leader that was not created by them. Because of the widespread use of social media, these fraudulent videos can garner billions of views in under an hour and have a significant impact on our culture. Deep-Fakes are a threat to our celebrities, democracy, religious views, and commerce, according to the findings, but they can be managed through rules and regulations, strong company policy, and general internet user awareness and education. We need to devise a process for examining such video and distinguishing between actual and fraudulent footage

Deep fake technology is an emerging technology that creates fake videos by using artificial intelligence (AI) with the facial expression and lips sing effect. Deep fake technology is widely used in different scenarios with different objectives. Deep fake technology is used to make a highly realistic fake video that can be widely used to spread the wrong information or fake news by regarding any celebrity or political leader which is not created by them. Due to the high impact of social media, these fake videos can reach millions of views within an hour and create a negative impact on our society. This technology can be used by criminals to threaten society by making such deep fake (AI) videos. The results suggest that deepfakes are a threat to our celebrities, political system, religious beliefs, and business, they can be controlled by rules and regulations, strict corporate policy and awareness, education, and training to the common internet users. We need to develop a technology that can examine such types of video and be able to differentiate between real and fake video. Government agency also needs to create some policy to regulate such technology so that monitoring and controlling the use of this AI technology can be managed

A Novel Counterfeit Feature Extraction Technique for Exposing Face-Swap Images Based on Deep Learning and Error Level Analysis

The quality and efficiency of generating face-swap images have been markedly strengthened by deep learning. For instance, the face-swap manipulations by DeepFake are so real that it is tricky to distinguish authenticity through automatic or manual detection. To augment the efficiency of distinguishing face-swap images generated by DeepFake from real facial ones, a novel counterfeit feature extraction technique was developed based on deep learning and error level analysis (ELA). It is related to entropy and information theory such as cross-entropy loss function in the final softmax layer. The DeepFake algorithm is only able to generate limited resolutions. Therefore, this algorithm results in two different image compression ratios between the fake face area as the foreground and the original area as the background, which would leave distinctive counterfeit traces. Through the ELA method, we can detect whether there are different image compression ratios. Convolution neural network (CNN), one of the representative technologies of deep learning, can extract the counterfeit feature and detect whether images are fake. Experiments show that the training efficiency of the CNN model can be significantly improved by the ELA method. In addition, the proposed technique can accurately extract the counterfeit feature, and therefore achieves outperformance in simplicity and efficiency compared with direct detection methods. Specifically, without loss of accuracy, the amount of computation can be significantly reduced (where the required floating-point computing power is reduced by more than 90%)

Due to recent advancements in AI and deep learning, several methods and tools for multimedia transformation, known as deepfake, have emerged. A deepfake is a synthetic media where a person's resemblance is used to substitute their presence in an already-existing image or video. Deepfakes have both positive and negative implications. They can be used in politics to simulate events or speeches, in translation to provide natural-sounding translations, in education for virtual experiences, and in entertainment for realistic special effects. The emergence of deepfake face forgery on the internet has raised significant societal concerns. As a result, detecting these forgeries has become an emerging field of research, and many deepfake detection methods have been proposed. This paper has introduced deepfakes and explained the different types of deepfakes that exist. It also explains a summary of various deep fake generation techniques, both traditional and AI detection techniques. Datasets used for deepfake-generating that are freely accessible are emphasized. To further advance the deepfake research field, we aim to provide relevant research findings, identify existing gaps, and propose emerging trends for future study
