A New Approach to Coding in Content Based MANETs
In content-based mobile ad hoc networks (CB-MANETs), random linear network
coding (NC) can be used to reliably disseminate large files under intermittent
connectivity. Conventional NC involves random unrestricted coding at
intermediate nodes. This however is vulnerable to pollution attacks. To avoid
attacks, a brute force approach is to restrict the mixing at the source.
However, source restricted NC generally reduces the robustness of the code in
the face of errors, losses and mobility induced intermittence. CB-MANETs
introduce a new option. Caching is common in CB MANETs and a fully reassembled
cached file can be viewed as a new source. Thus, NC packets can be mixed at all
sources (including the originator and the intermediate caches) yet still
providing protection from pollution. The hypothesis we wish to test in this
paper is whether in CB-MANETs with sufficient caches of a file, the performance
(in terms of robustness) of the restricted coding equals that of unrestricted
coding.
In this paper, we examine and compare unrestricted coding to full cache
coding, source only coding, and no coding. As expected, we find that full cache
coding remains competitive with unrestricted coding while maintaining full
protection against pollution attacks
Wireless Broadcast with Network Coding in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks: DRAGONCAST
Network coding is a recently proposed method for transmitting data, which has
been shown to have potential to improve wireless network performance. We study
network coding for one specific case of multicast, broadcasting, from one
source to all nodes of the network. We use network coding as a loss tolerant,
energy-efficient, method for broadcast. Our emphasis is on mobile networks. Our
contribution is the proposal of DRAGONCAST, a protocol to perform network
coding in such a dynamically evolving environment. It is based on three
building blocks: a method to permit real-time decoding of network coding, a
method to adjust the network coding transmission rates, and a method for
ensuring the termination of the broadcast. The performance and behavior of the
method are explored experimentally by simulations; they illustrate the
excellent performance of the protocol
Simulation and Performance Analysis of MP-OLSR for Mobile Ad hoc Networks
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) consist of a collection of wireless mobile
nodes which dynamically exchange data without reliance on a fixed base station
or a wired backbone network, which makes routing a crucial issue for the design
of a ad hoc networks. In this paper we discussed a hybrid multipath routing
protocol named MP-OLSR. It is based on the link state algorithm and employs
periodic exchange of messages to maintain topology information of the networks.
In the mean time, it updates the routing table in an on-demand scheme and
forwards the packets in multiple paths which have been determined at the
source. If a link failure is detected, the algorithm recovers the route
automatically. Concerning the instability of the wireless networks, the
redundancy coding is used to improve the delivery ratio. The simulation in NS2
shows that the new protocol can effectively improve the performance of the
networks
A QoS-aware routing protocol with adaptive feedback scheme for video streaming for mobile networks
One of the major challenges for the transmission of time-sensitive data like video over mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) is the deployment of an end-to-end QoS support mechanism. Therefore, several approaches and enhancements have been proposed concerning the routing protocols. In this paper we propose a new QoS routing protocol based on AODV (named AQA-AODV), which creates routes according to application QoS requirements. We have introduced link and path available bandwidth estimation mechanisms and an adaptive scheme that can provide feedback to the source node about the current network state, to allow the application to appropriately adjust the transmission rate. In the same way, we propose a route recovery approach into the AQA-AODV protocol, which provides a mechanism to detect the link failures in a route and re-establish the connections taking into account the conditions of QoS that have been established during the previous route discovery phase. The simulation results reveal performance improvements in terms of packet delay, number of link failures and connection setup latency while we make more efficient use of the available bandwidth than other protocols like AODV and QAODV. In terms of video transmission, the obtained results prove that the combined use of AQA-AODV and the scalable video coding provides an efficient platform for supporting rate-adaptive video streaming.Castellanos Hernández, WE.; Guerri Cebollada, JC.; Arce Vila, P. Implementation of Majority Based voting protocol in group based system with re-ranking
A Mobile Ad Hoc Network is a decentralized kind of remote system. It doesn't have any altered foundation and the hubs can impart straightforwardly between one another. Because of its open nature issues like security and vitality utilization emerges. This paper presents an in number encryption calculation keeping in mind the end goal to expand dependability and security for MANETs. At the point when huge volume of information is to be sent, information pressure method is a straightforward procedure, with the advantage of diminishing the transmission rate that devours less transfer speed and low power. Lempel Ziv Welch (LZW) pressure calculation when connected on coded message assists in furnishing security with low battery utilization. Such a plan composed practically speaking will help in building secure MANET based application
