Video Data Visualization System: Semantic Classification And Personalization
We present in this paper an intelligent video data visualization tool, based
on semantic classification, for retrieving and exploring a large scale corpus
of videos. Our work is based on semantic classification resulting from semantic
analysis of video. The obtained classes will be projected in the visualization
space. The graph is represented by nodes and edges, the nodes are the keyframes
of video documents and the edges are the relation between documents and the
classes of documents. Finally, we construct the user's profile, based on the
interaction with the system, to render the system more adequate to its
references.Comment: graphic
Temporally coherent 4D reconstruction of complex dynamic scenes
This paper presents an approach for reconstruction of 4D temporally coherent
models of complex dynamic scenes. No prior knowledge is required of scene
structure or camera calibration allowing reconstruction from multiple moving
cameras. Sparse-to-dense temporal correspondence is integrated with joint
multi-view segmentation and reconstruction to obtain a complete 4D
representation of static and dynamic objects. Temporal coherence is exploited
to overcome visual ambiguities resulting in improved reconstruction of complex
scenes. Robust joint segmentation and reconstruction of dynamic objects is
achieved by introducing a geodesic star convexity constraint. Comparative
evaluation is performed on a variety of unstructured indoor and outdoor dynamic
scenes with hand-held cameras and multiple people. This demonstrates
reconstruction of complete temporally coherent 4D scene models with improved
nonrigid object segmentation and shape reconstruction.Comment: To appear in The IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern

Geodesic Distance Histogram Feature for Video Segmentation
This paper proposes a geodesic-distance-based feature that encodes global
information for improved video segmentation algorithms. The feature is a joint
histogram of intensity and geodesic distances, where the geodesic distances are
computed as the shortest paths between superpixels via their boundaries. We
also incorporate adaptive voting weights and spatial pyramid configurations to
include spatial information into the geodesic histogram feature and show that
this further improves results. The feature is generic and can be used as part
of various algorithms. In experiments, we test the geodesic histogram feature
by incorporating it into two existing video segmentation frameworks. This leads
to significantly better performance in 3D video segmentation benchmarks on two
datasets
STV-based Video Feature Processing for Action Recognition
In comparison to still image-based processes, video features can provide rich and intuitive information about dynamic events occurred over a period of time, such as human actions, crowd behaviours, and other subject pattern changes. Although substantial progresses have been made in the last decade on image processing and seen its successful applications in face matching and object recognition, video-based event detection still remains one of the most difficult challenges in computer vision research due to its complex continuous or discrete input signals, arbitrary dynamic feature definitions, and the often ambiguous analytical methods. In this paper, a Spatio-Temporal Volume (STV) and region intersection (RI) based 3D shape-matching method has been proposed to facilitate the definition and recognition of human actions recorded in videos. The distinctive characteristics and the performance gain of the devised approach stemmed from a coefficient factor-boosted 3D region intersection and matching mechanism developed in this research. This paper also reported the investigation into techniques for efficient STV data filtering to reduce the amount of voxels (volumetric-pixels) that need to be processed in each operational cycle in the implemented system. The encouraging features and improvements on the operational performance registered in the experiments have been discussed at the end
