A Method of Steganography – P Message With Q Coefficient (SPMQC)

In this paper, we are going to propose a method for Steganography- which is based on deceiving Ο‡2 algorithm. Since the cover image coefficients and stego image coefficients histograms have significant differences for purposes of statistical properties, statistical analysis of Ο‡2-test reveals the existence of hidden messages inside stego image. We are introducing an idea for hiding messages in the cover image. It causes that DCT (Discrete Cosine Transforms) coefficient histogram not to have remarkable modification before and after embedding message. As a result, identifying the hidden message inside an image is impossible for an eavesdropper through Ο‡2 -test. In this paper, we are proposing a better method with developing this algorithm. In fact, the capacity and the security of embedding messages increase extremely.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i2.201

System Steganalysis: Implementation Vulnerabilities and Side-Channel Attacks Against Digital Steganography Systems

Steganography is the process of hiding information in plain sight, it is a technology that can be used to hide data and facilitate secret communications. Steganography is commonly seen in the digital domain where the pervasive nature of media content (image, audio, video) provides an ideal avenue for hiding secret information. In recent years, video steganography has shown to be a highly suitable alternative to image and audio steganography due to its potential advantages (capacity, flexibility, popularity). An increased interest towards research in video steganography has led to the development of video stego-systems that are now available to the public. Many of these stego-systems have not yet been subjected to analysis or evaluation, and their capabilities for performing secure, practical, and effective video steganography are unknown. This thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of the state-of-the-art in practical video steganography. Video-based stego-systems are identified and examined using steganalytic techniques (system steganalysis) to determine the security practices of relevant stego-systems. The research in this thesis is conducted through a series of case studies that aim to provide novel insights in the field of steganalysis and its capabilities towards practical video steganography. The results of this work demonstrate the impact of system attacks over the practical state-of-the-art in video steganography. Through this research, it is evident that video-based stego-systems are highly vulnerable and fail to follow many of the well-understood security practices in the field. Consequently, it is possible to confidently detect each stego-system with a high rate of accuracy. As a result of this research, it is clear that current work in practical video steganography demonstrates a failure to address key principles and best practices in the field. Continued efforts to address this will provide safe and secure steganographic technologies

Steganography is the science and art of embedding hidden messages into cover multimedia such as text, image, audio and video. Steganalysis is the counterpart of steganography, which wants to identify if there is data hidden inside a digital medium. In this study, some specific steganographic schemes such as HUGO and LSB are studied and the steganalytic schemes developed to steganalyze the hidden message are studied. Furthermore, some new approaches such as deep learning and game theory, which have seldom been utilized in steganalysis before, are studied. In the rest of thesis study some steganalytic schemes using textural features including the LDP and LTP have been implemented

Increasing Embedding Efficiency & Security of Extended Matrix Encoding Algorithm by Providing Compression & Encryption

Extended Matrix Encoding Algorithm is totally different from most of the LSB replacement or matching steganographic schemes. With reducing the amount of necessary changes the extended matrix algorithm is used to increase embedding efficiency. By using this algorithm, the hidden message is inserted into carrier media and can be transferred via safer channel. In this algorithm the quantitative DCT coefficients of JPEG image which makes the data safe from visual attack. The embedding efficiency and embedding rate get increased to large extent by changing the hash function in matrix encryption and changing the coding mode. In this paper I am trying to show that we can increase embedding efficiency by compressing the secrete data also increase the security by encryption and provision of double password.
