    Comparative Analysis of Web of Science and Scopus on the Energy Efficiency and Climate Impact of Buildings

    Although the body of scientific publications on energy efficiency and climate mitigation from buildings has been growing quickly in recent years, very few previous bibliometric analysis studies exist that analyze the literature in terms of specific content (trends or options for zero‐energy buildings) or coverage of different scientific databases. We evaluate the scientific literature published since January 2013 concerning alternative methods for improving the energy efficiency and mitigating climate impacts from buildings. We quantify and describe the literature through a bibliometric approach, comparing the databases Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus. A total of 19,416 (Scopus) and 17,468 (WoS) publications are analyzed, with only 11% common documents. The literature has grown steadily during this time period, with a peak in the year 2017. Most of the publications are in English, in the area of Engineering and Energy Fuels, and from institutions from China and the USA. Strong links are observed between the most published authors and institutions worldwide. An analysis of keywords reveals that most of research focuses on technologies for heating, ventilation, and air‐conditioning, phase change materials, as well as information and communication technologies. A significantly smaller segment of the literature takes a broader perspective (greenhouse gas emissions, life cycle, and sustainable development), investigating implementation issues (policies and costs) or renewable energy (solar). Knowledge gaps are detected in the areas of behavioral changes, the circular economy, and some renewable energy sources (geothermal, biomass, small wind). We conclude that i) the contents of WoS and Scopus are radically different in the studied fields; ii) research seems to focus on technological aspects; and iii) there are weak links between research on energy and on climate mitigation and sustainability, the latter themes being misrepresented in the literature. These conclusions should be validated with further analyses of the documents identified in this study.     Asian Government Usage of Web 2.0 Social Media

    The rise of Web 2.0 social sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube has brought significant changes and opportunities for both online consumers and governments. These tools have changed the ways Internet users communicate with each other and their governments, and allow for greater social participation. The number of worldwide users is growing significantly and their expectations for more services are rising. However, this has not translated into Asian governments totally encompassing the implementation functions and services using these tools. This research investigates the level of government participation of 50 Asian governments of three social media sites. The results show that a minority of Asian governments (approximately 30 percent) are using Web 2.0 tools for communication and information dissemination. The study found that if social sites were utilised, most governments used them for a) information dissemination on official government channels, b) education and c) tourism. The implications are that governments are missing opportunities to better server their citizens and reach the growing number of Internet users. Instead of avoiding these new technologies, governments should develop an overall strategic plan for all agency levels to participate in social networks, and develop a coordinated effort to develop and implement the tools

    Ontology construction from online ontologies

    One of the main hurdles towards a wide endorsement of ontologies is the high cost of constructing them. Reuse of existing ontologies offers a much cheaper alternative than building new ones from scratch, yet tools to support such reuse are still in their infancy. However, more ontologies are becoming available on the web, and online libraries for storing and indexing ontologies are increasing in number and demand. Search engines have also started to appear, to facilitate search and retrieval of online ontologies.     Personalized Music Recommendation Based on Style Type

    As Internet industry constantly develops and the computer penetration rate continues to grow, the number of online music platforms and music users has been able to increase year by year. With that comes more music choices, information overload has become a very prominent problem. Therefore, how to make users choose their favorite music more conveniently is one of the most challenging problems faced by online music recommendation systems. This paper bases on the existing recommendation system research and uses the collaborative filtering algorithm, proposes a music recommendation method from three perspectives: user attributes, music types and time migration. It is found that the online music recommendation from these three perspectives has a good effect, which can provide a reference for the construction of the current online music recommendation system and is also helpful to platform management practice

    Recommender agents are being widely used by E-commerce business to help customers make decisions from a large amount of choices. To improve the performance of recommendation agents, three main approaches (content-based approaches, collaborative approaches and hybrid approaches) have been proposed to address recommendation problem whose basic idea is to discover similarity of items and users and predicate users’ preference toward a set of items. This provides potential for using social network analysis to make recommendations since social network analysis can be used to investigate the relationships of customers. In this research, we illustrate the concepts of social network analysis and how it can be employed to make better recommendations in E-commerce context.
