From 15.05.06 to 20.05.06, the Dagstuhl Seminar 06201 ``Combinatorial and Algorithmic Foundations of Pattern and Association Discovery\u27\u27 was held in the International Conference and Research Center (IBFI), Schloss Dagstuhl. During the seminar, several participants presented their current research, and ongoing work and open problems were discussed. Abstracts of the presentations given during the seminar as well as abstracts of seminar results and ideas are put together in this paper. The goals of this seminar have been (1) to identify and match recently developed methods to specific tasks and data sets in a core of application areas; next, based on feedback from the specific applied domain, (2) to fine tune and personalize those applications, and finally (3) to identify and tackle novel combinatorial and algorithmic problems, in some cases all the way to the development of novel software tools
