Caracterización del desarrollo de habilidades estadístico-investigativas en los estudiantes de licenciatura en Bioanálisis clínico

Abstract

The teaching of statistics should focus on solving contextualized problems. The objective of this research is to characterize the current state of the development of statistical-research skills in students of the Clinical Bioanalysis program. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 27 third-year students during the first period of the 2025-2026 academic year. An observation guide was used for 10 curricular and extracurricular teaching activities; a questionnaire was applied to the students, and 10 teachers were interviewed. The results showed a deficient rating in the criterion of practical application in research in 70 % of the observations. Students with a low level predominated at 55,6 %. Teachers stated that curricular disconnection and a deficit in knowledge transfer are the root causes, due to a lack of integration and practical application. The applied triangulation provides a comprehensive and reliable view of the current state of statistical-research skills in the Clinical Bioanalysis program, allowing for a structured approach to optimize both teacher and student training.La enseñanza de la estadística debe enfocarse en la resolución de problemas contextualizados. El objetivo de esta investigación es caracterizar el estado actual del desarrollo de habilidades estadístico-investigativas en los estudiantes de la carrera de Bioanálisis clínico. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en 27 estudiantes de tercer año durante el primer período del curso 2025-2026. Se empleó una guía de observación a 10 actividades docentes curriculares y extracurriculares; se aplicó un cuestionario a los alumnos y se entrevistaron 10 profesores. Se obtuvo como resultado en el criterio aplicación práctica en investigación una calificación deficiente en el 70 % de las observaciones. Predominaron los estudiantes con un nivel bajo en el 55,6 %. Los profesores opinaron que existe una desconexión curricular y un déficit en la transferencia como las causas raíz, debido a la falta de integración y aplicación práctica. La triangulación aplicada proporciona una visión integral y confiable sobre el estado actual de las habilidades estadístico-investigativas en la carrera de Bioanálisis Clínico, lo que permite un abordaje estructurado para optimizar la formación docente y estudiantil
