HUMANISMO, VIRTÙ E A VIDA PÚBLICA NO DECORRER DO MOVIMENTO RENASCENTISTA:: Entre A Vita Activa E A Vita Contemplativa

Abstract

This article addresses humanism in the 14th and 15th centuries on the Italian Peninsula. We analyze the role of humanists as public agents who prioritized the vita activa over medieval contemplation. We also explore the role of virtù in shaping the individual. In sum, we observe that these men sought to balance action and reflection, as they aspired to an ideal capable of achieving fame and glory.Este artigo versa sobre o humanismo nos séculos XIV e XV na Península Itálica. Analisamos a atuação dos humanistas como agentes públicos que priorizavam a vita activa em vez da contemplação medieval. Exploramos também o papel da virtù na formação do indivíduo. Em suma, observamos que esses homens buscavam equilibrar ação e reflexão, pois almejavam um ideal capaz de alcançar fama e glória
