Powstanie Związku Katechetów w Galicji w dobie autonomicznej

Abstract

This article aims to present the process of the formation of the Association of Teaching Priests in Galicia in the autonomous era. It presents a whole spectrum of issues related to the formation of this organisation between 1897 and 1899, i.e. from the original idea of the formation of the association to the formal approval of its statutes. It provides a broader context behind the efforts undertaken in this matter, showing the attitude of the teaching priests of the Galician dioceses towards the emerging association, the church and state authorities, and the Lviv milieu associated with the „Gazeta Kościelna” („Church Newspaper”) as well as the personal involvement of Fr Walenty Gadowski (a teacher and catechetical expert) in the creation of the Polish professional organisation of teaching priests and Catholic educators, the first of its kind in the Polish lands during the period of partitions.Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie procesu powstawania Związku Katechetów w Galicji w dobie autonomicznej. Zaprezentowano w nim całe spektrum zagadnień związanych z kształtowaniem się tej organizacji w latach 1897–1899, czyli od momentu pojawienia się idei jej zawiązania, aż do formalnego zatwierdzenia jej statutu. Podaje on szerszy kontekst podejmowanych działań w tym zakresie, ukazując stosunek księży katechetów diecezji galicyjskich do powstającego związku, władz kościelnych i państwowych oraz lwowskiego środowiska związanego z „Gazetą Kościelną”, a także osobiste zaangażowanie ks. Walentego Gadowskiego (katechety i katechetyka) w dzieło utworzenia polskiej organizacji zawodowej księży katechetów i wychowawców katolickich, pierwszej tego typu na ziemiach polskich okresu zaborów
