Hipoparatiroidismo y síndrome de Fahr

Abstract

Fahr’s syndrome is a rare neurodegenerative condition characterized by bilateral brain calcification of basal ganglia. Several etiologies have been identified, either inherited or acquired. In this article we present a case of a patient with neurological features due to hypocalcemia and hypoparathiroydism and eventually diagnosed as Fahr's syndrome.El síndrome de Fahr es una entidad neurodegenerativa poco frecuente que se caracteriza por la presencia de calcificaciones cerebrales bilaterales en ganglios de la base. Existen diversas etiologías, tanto hereditarias como adquiridas. En este artículo exponemos el caso de un paciente que debuta con clínica neurológica secundaria a hipocalcemia por hipoparatiroidismo y con diagnóstico final de síndrome de Fahr
