Russian railways : a case study in civil-military relations

Abstract

In the presentation and following article, I will present three cases of communicative vessels that constitute examples of civil-military interaction between a formally civilian railway company (RZhD) and the Russian MoD, which depends on the state-owned company’s transportation services. The choice of the case study as a methodology allows for the use of specific examples that are of structural nature, and to draw conclusions that have bearing on Russia’s current warfighting in Ukraine, and possibly elsewhere, in the future
