Society in the Poems of the 'Pesum Puthiya Sakthi' Literary Magazine

Abstract

Literary magazines, instead of being merely a source of entertainment, function as the conscience of society, a critic, and an instrument for change. Literary magazines are mirrors that reflect the true face of a society. Through stories, poems, and articles, these magazines bring to light the real problems that society faces, such as caste oppression, poverty, subjugation of women, political corruption, environmental degradation, and capitalist exploitation. 'Pesum Puthiya Sakthi' is a Tamil literary magazine. This magazine was started in the year 2000. It publishes literary articles, interviews, and poems. It has published the works of writers such as Gandhi M. Mehta, M. Gopalakrishnan, and Vittal Rao. This article examines the social perspective found in the poems published in the literary magazine 'Pesum Puthiya Sakthi'
