Crisi i etapes poètiques

Abstract

Using the concept of poetic crisis, this article broadly reviews Estellés’ work and his literary, civic and social commitment. It proposes three basic stages marked by three poetic crossroads: in which deep lyricism emerges from the confrontation between security and uncertainty, spontaneity and repetition, immediacy and posterity. A crisis of choice that must be placed approximately between 1949 and 1958: the ethos as a starting point for the definition of his personality, from which his destiny as a poet is considered. A crisis marked by the change of language and, on a more intimate and personal level, by the death of his first daughter. Secondly, another great lyrical phase between 1958 and 1970 that should be conceptualized as one of affirmation; logos as the triumph of the word or as freedom. And, finally, between 1970 and 1993, a crisis of identification in which pathos becomes power in the sense of the presence or imminence of changes and a future that seems more possible than ever, but that have not yet arrived
