LOUCURA CONTEMPORÂNEA: RELAÇÕES ENTRE O DISCURSO SOBRE A LOUCURA E POSSESSÃO DEMONÍACA NO FILME HEREDITARY (2018).

Abstract

This article is part of the study developed within the scope of Scientific Initiation. It is located in the historiographic field of Cultural History and History of Mentalities. Its purpose is to understand the approach given to the film Hereditary (2018) about madness from the relationship with demonic possession. Directed by Ari Aster, it is understood that, in filmic language, emphasis was placed on re-updating representations in the field of medieval demonology over the modern and scientific discourse of madness. Psychological horror, the film stars the Graham family, who begin to experience disturbing events after the death of the matriarch. Madness began to be covered in cinemas by the subgenre, among the most profitable. It became emblematic of characters that became iconographic in cinematographic culture, such as Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Michael Myers.Este artigo é parte resultante do estudo que se desenvolve no âmbito da Iniciação Científica. Está situado no campo historiográfico da História Cultural e História das Mentalidades. Tem como proposta compreender a abordagem dada ao filme Hereditary (Hereditário, 2018) sobre a loucura a partir da relação com a possessão demoníaca. Dirigido por Ari Aster, compreende-se que, na linguagem fílmica, primou-se reatualizar as representações no campo da demonologia medieval sobre o discurso moderno e científico da loucura. Terror psicológico, o longa é protagonizado pela família Graham, que começa a experimentar eventos perturbadores após a morte da matriarca. A loucura começou a ser abordada nos cinemas pelo subgênero, entre os mais lucrativos. Se tornou emblemático a partir de personagens que se tornaram iconográficos na cultura cinematográfica, como Dr. Hannibal Lecter e Michael Myers
