Riesgo de victimización, desempeño del Estado y resultados de educación universitaria en lectura crítica a nivel municipal en Colombia. Una perspectiva espacial. 2019 y 2021

Abstract

This paper examines how victimization risk and state performance at the municipal level impact college students' reading outcomes in Colombia between 2019 and 2021, by means of spatial regression models. The findings showed how municipalities with higher risk of victimization and lower municipal performance showed the worst results, while the neighborhood context of the municipalities also has significant effects. It was concluded that public policies should focus on reducing the risk of victimization and improving municipal performance, not only locally but also in the municipal neighborhoods, by considering the spatial networks of relationships between municipalities that affect, based on the two previous variables, the results in higher education.Este trabajo examina cómo incide el riesgo de victimización y el desempeño del estado a nivel municipal en los resultados en lectura de los estudiantes universitarios de Colombia para 2019 y 2021, por medio de modelos de regresión espacial. Los hallazgos mostraron cómo los municipios con mayor riesgo de victimización y menor desempeño municipal mostraron los peores resultados, al tiempo que el contexto del vecindario de los municipios también tiene efectos significativos. Se concluyó que las políticas públicas deben enfocarse en reducir el riesgo de victimización y mejorar el desempeño municipal, no solo localmente sino en los vecindarios municipales, considerando los entramados espaciales de relacionamiento entre municipios que afectan, a partir de las dos variables anteriores, los resultados en educación superior
