Frontiers of surveying from architecture and knowledge systems for a candidacy to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network

Abstract

[ENG] Over the past two decades, more attention has been paid to city knowledge through the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. These are particularly significant cities that identify creativity as a strategic element for sustainable urban development. On the basis of these considerations, the research presented here has been defined with the aim of developing a methodological process capable of analyzing the territory through the frontiers of architectural surveying and knowledge systems. These devices, in their ability to capture tangible and intangible values, allow to prefigure new potential detection scenarios in many application domains such as the built and urban environment, cultural heritage and archaeology, monitoring and more. The critical analysis of the potential repercussions in the field of Architecture of the evolution of sensors cannot fail to be the center of the scientific activity of a community that aims at research as a privileged field for the advancement of knowledge. Precisely for this reason, the research chooses an urban-scale digitization operation on the archaeological complex of the Terme di Baia in Bacoli (Naples). Currently, the area faces difficult challenges, such as bradyseism. Therefore, with a view to a potential formal application to the Creative Cities Network, the article aims to demonstrate how relief and representation can support and help preserve tradition and drive future change. [IT] Negli ultimi due decenni, la Rete delle Città Creative dell’UNESCO ha incentivato una nuova centralità delle città che adottano la creatività come motore strategico per lo sviluppo urbano sostenibile. La ricerca, qui presentata nella sua articolazione metodologica e in fieri, ha posto e si propone di codificare un processo di conoscenza attraverso i sistemi informativi speditivi mobile mapping. In tale ambito, la digitalizzazione definisce il primo passo per la costruzione di un apparato conoscitivo e in particolare, in contesti archeologici può configurarsi quale primo, fondamentale, passaggio in uno scenario di intervento che aspira a veicolare la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale come promotore di una rinascita globale. Sulla base di questa osservazione, lo studio sceglie il sito archeologico delle Terme di Baia a Bacoli (Napoli) per sperimentare una digitalizzazione a scala urbana. L’area, oggi segnata dal bradisismo, rappresenta un banco di prova per dimostrare come rilievo e rappresentazione possano concorrere alla conservazione della memoria e orientare il cambiamento, anche in vista di una possibile candidatura alla “Rete delle Città Creative” UNESCO
