Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the crowdfunding market in Poland in 2020–2023

Abstract

The main topic of the following article is to identify the impact of external threats resulting from independent causes, such as COVID-19, on the capital market and on the tools of this market, such as equity crowdfunding platforms. The analysis uses data from the three largest equity crowdfunding platforms — Beesfund, Crowdway, and Findfunds — to compare data from 2022–2023 with the period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. The article compares the effectiveness of individual platforms by periods, amounts, and industries in the years 2022–2023 compared to the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. This data clearly indicates that the equity crowdfunding market is very resistant to external factors and has stable foundations for further development
