Diez años del Seminario Zubiri de Guatemala. Reflexiones programáticas y aportes para un proyecto filosófico plural

Abstract

This paper gives an account of the history of the Philosophical Research Seminar Xavier Zubiri in Guatemala. First, some background on the study of Zubiri at the Universidad Rafael Landívar (URL), under the influence of Jesuits trained by Ignacio Ellacuría in the eighties, or Jesuits coming from Spain, as is the case of Dr. Manuel Mazón. Then, it is shown how the idea of making the seminar, the original proposal by Fr. Mazón and its reception at the URL by Fr. Rolando Alvarado and the university authorities, until its emergence and implementation in July 2014. It then shows the very evolution of the seminar in its various stages, what has been studied and the ways in which it has contributed to the university community. It is argued that Zubiri has earned its own place in the URL, its crossings with phenomenology and its potential to problematize the sciences, especially the critical social sciences, of which philosophy has always been a very close relative.Este trabajo da cuenta de la historia del Seminario de Investigación Filosófica Xavier Zubiri de Guatemala. En un primer momento se adelantan algunos antecedentes sobre el estudio de Zubiri en la Universidad Rafael Landívar (URL), bajo la influencia de jesuitas formados por Ignacio Ellacuría en los años ochenta, o bien de jesuitas venidos de España como es el caso del Dr. Manuel Mazón. Luego, se muestra cómo surgió la idea de hacer el seminario, la propuesta original por parte del P. Mazón y su recepción en la URL por parte del P. Rolando Alvarado y de las autoridades de la universidad, hasta su eclosión y puesta en marcha en julio del 2014. Enseguida se muestra el devenir mismo del seminario en sus diversas etapas, lo que se ha estudiado y las formas en que ha aportado a la comunidad universitaria. Se sostiene que Zubiri ha ganado su propio lugar en la URL, sus cruces con la fenomenología y su potencialidad para problematizar las ciencias, especialmente las ciencias sociales críticas, de quienes la filosofía ha sido desde siempre, pariente muy cercana
