Perceptions of Tourism Impacts by the Residents of the City of Pilsen

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis aims to analyze the involvement of residents of the Pilsen region in tourism and their perceptions of the impacts of tourism on everyday life in the area. The study defines the region as the district of Pilsen-City, Pilsen-South District and Pilsen- North Districft. The study describes both the benefits and challenges associated with tourism development. It examines the attitudes of residents who economically benefit from tourism as well as those who oppose its further expansion. A questionnaire survey was used for data analysis. The results of this thesis may serve professionals involved in tourism development as well as researchers interested in building upon this studyTato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl analyzovat zapojení rezidentů plzeňského regionu do cestovního ruchu, a vnímání dopadů cestovního ruchu na každodenní život v dané oblasti. Vymezuje region na oblast Plzeň-město, Plzeň-jih a Plzeň-sever. Popisuje přínosy a problematiku cestovního ruchu, zkoumá postoje rezidentů, kteří z cestovního ruchu profitují, i jeho odpůrců. K analýze dat bylo použito dotazníkové šetření. Výsledky této práce mohou posloužit osobám zabývajícím se cestovním ruchem, či zájemcům o navázání na tento výzkum
