ЛІНГВОСТИЛІСТИЧНІ ОСОБЛИВОСТІ КОРОТКОГО ОПОВІДАННЯ (НА ПРИКЛАДІ ОПОВІДАНЬ О. ГЕНРІ)

Abstract

In this article, we deal with different approaches to the study of the notion of linguostylistics as the object of linguistic research. The article reveals the main points of linguostylistic analysis which is carried out by describing different language levels and establishing the relationship between functional and expressive styles. One of the objects of interest of linguostylistic analysis is the study of differentstylistic lexical and grammatical means functioning in various literary texts. The short story is considered to be extremely diverse and rich in lexical and grammatical features, which explains the choice of conducting linguostylistic analysis on the material of short stories. American writer O. Henry is one of the most talented masters of language use, whose works are rich in various lexical and grammaticaldevices that have an impact on expressive and emotional expression, that is why we analyzed linguistic and stylistic peculiarities of short stories in the examples of stories by O. Henry. The writer’s talent lies in his sense of humor, namely in the forms of its expression: wordplay, the use of catchphrases, phraseology, idioms, a mocking tone, and so on. The most common in short stories, despite its simplicity and brevity, is the epithet, through the use of which the texts are filled with emotionality and a certain sharpness. Metaphors, using which the characteristics of one object or phenomenon are transferred to another based on the similarity between them, are used quite widely in short stories, as well as personification as a variety of them. Among other linguistic and stylistic means, we can mentionallegory, oxymoron, hyperbole or litotes, antithesis, and so on.У статті розглядаються різні підходи до вивчення поняття лінгвостилістики як об’єкта лінгвістичного дослідження. Розкриваються основні моменти лінгвостилістичного аналізу, який здійснюється шляхом опису різних рівнів мови та встановлення співвідношення між функціональним та експресивним стилями. Одним з об’єктів інтересу лінгвостилістичного аналізу є вивчення різноманітних стилістичних лексико-граматичних засобів, що функціонують у різних художніх текстах. Коротке оповідання вважається надзвичайно різноманітним та багатим за лексико-граматичними ознаками, що пояснює вибір проведення лінгвостилістичного аналізу на матеріалі коротких оповідань. Американський письменник О. Генрі є одним із найталановитіших майстрів мовного мистецтва, чиї твори рясніють, у хорошому сенсі цього слова, різноманітними лексико-граматичними прийомами, що впливають на експресивно-емоційне вираження, тому ми проаналізували мовностилістичні особливості оповідань на прикладах оповідань О. Генрі.Талант письменника полягає в його почутті гумору, а саме у формах його вираження: грі слів, уживанні скоромовок, фразеологізмів та ідіом, глузливого тону тощо. Найпоширенішим у коротких оповіданнях, незважаючи на їх простоту й стислість, є епітет, завдяки використанню якого тексти наповнюються емоційністю й певною гостротою. Досить широко в оповіданнях використовується метафора, за допомогою якої ознаки одного предмета чи явища передаються іншим за подібністю між ними, а також персоніфікація як її різновид. Серед інших лінгвостилістичних засобів можна назвати алегорію, оксиморон, гіперболу або літоту, антитезу тощо
