Discussions of Transition and Energy Poverty in Argentine North Patagonia : Mapuche Relocation in Argentine Patagonia

Abstract

El presente artículo recupera las tensiones entre la perspectiva de transición energética en Argentina a fines de la década de los ochenta y principios de los noventa, como consecuencia del traslado de una comunidad mapuche en la Norpatagonia. La relocalización se produjo por la inundación del Río Limay para por la construcción de una represa hidroeléctrica. La metodología de investigación etnográfica consistió en entrevistas semiestructuradas y observación participante con integrantes de las familias de la comunidad, análisis de archivos y un conversatorio-debate transdisciplinario actual al cumplirse 30 años de la relocalización. El artículo relata las emociones de los habitantes, resultantes del proceso de relocalización.This paper seeks to recover the tensions between the energy transition perspective in Argentina at the end of the eighties and beginning of the nineties, as a consequence of the relocation of a mapuche community in northern Patagonia. The relocation occurred due to the flooding of Río Limay, for the construction of a hydroelectric dam. The article relates the emotions resulting from the inhabitants 20 and 30 years after the event
