Use of the SW tool Power BI for management reporting

Abstract

This thesis deals with the use of Power BI software in management reporting. The aim is to analyze the use of Power BI in a specific company, which is Zásilkovna. The concepts of management accounting, controlling and reporting are introduced in the theoretical part. Business Intelligence and its specific solution in the form of Power BI are also characterized. In the practical part, the analyzed company is presented, as well as the general procedure for creating reports in Power BI. Next, a specific Power BI output called Management report is described. Then the individual steps for the correct reporting of the result values in the Management report are described in detail. At the end of the work, there are recommendations from the point of view of graphic processing of the report, as well as smaller suggestions for optimization solutions.Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím softwaru Power BI v manažerském reportingu. Cílem práce je zanalyzovat využití Power BI v konkrétním podniku, kterým je Zásilkovna. V teoretické části jsou definovány pojmy manažerské účetnictví, controlling a reporting. Dále je charakterizována Business Intelligence a její konkrétní řešení v podobě Power BI. V praktické části je představena analyzovaná společnost a také obecný postup tvorby reportů v Power BI. Dále je popsán konkrétní výstup Power BI zvaný Management report. Poté jsou detailně rozepsány jednotlivé kroky pro reportování hodnot výsledovky v Management reportu. V závěru práce jsou stanovena doporučení z pohledu grafického zpracování reportu, ale také drobné návrhy pro optimalizaci řešení
