Segmentation of travel agency customers

Abstract

The thesis focuses on the segmentation of travel agency customers in the Czech market in order to reveal all relevant market segments and assess their attractiveness. In the theoretical part, the theoretical foundations of consumer behaviour and segmentation were described in the literature search, focusing on the consumer behaviour specifics known for the tourism sector. In the practical part, a combination of secondary research based on MML-TGI data and primary questionnaire survey was used. Statistical methods, such as factor and cluster analysis, allowed the identification of five main customer segments from the secondary research, which were further developed using contingency tables and compared with the segments from the primary research. Based on the resulting segment profiles, marketing recommendations were then proposed for travel agents to effectively reach the selected segments.Diplomová práca sa zameriava na segmentáciu zákazníkov cestovných kancelárií na českom trhu s cieľom odhaliť všetky relevantné segmenty na trhu a posúdiť ich atraktivitu. V teoretickej časti boli v rámci rešerše literatúry popísané teoretické základy spotrebiteľského správania a segmentácie so zameraním na špecifiká známe pre oblasť turizmu. V praktickej časti bola využitá kombinácia sekundárneho výskumu podľa dát z MML-TGI a primárneho dotazníkového šetrenia. Štatistické metódy, ako faktorová a zhluková analýza, umožnili identifikovať päť hlavných segmentov zákazníkov zo sekundárneho výskumu, ktoré boli ďalej rozvinuté pomocou kontingenčných tabuliek a porovnané so segmentmi z primárneho výskumu. Na základe výsledných profilov segmentov boli následne navrhnuté marketingové odporúčania pre cestovné kancelárie, podľa ktorých môžu vybrané segmenty efektívne osloviť
