HUBUNGAN SELF-CONTROL DENGAN COMPULSIVE BUYING MAHASISWA FIP UNIVERSITAS NEGERI JAKARTA PENGGUNA APLIKASI E-COMMERCE

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara self-control dengan compulsive buying mahasiswa FIP UNJ pengguna aplikasi e-commerce. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan sampel penelitian sebanyak 356 mahasiswa FIP pengguna aplikasi e-commerce dengan rentang usia antara 18-24 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah accidental sampling. Alat ukur self-control yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen Full Self-Control Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Tangney et. al (2004) yang telah peneliti adopsi dari penelitian sebelumnya. Kemudian, untuk alat ukur compulsive buying menggunakan instrumen Edward Compulsive Buying Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Edward (1993). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi negatif antara self-control dengan compulsive buying mahasiwa FIP UNJ pengguna aplikasi e-commerce dengan nilai korelasi, yaitu -0,369. Artinya, semakin baik kempampuan self-control mahasiswa, maka perilaku compulsive buying akan semakin rendah, begitu pun sebaliknya. ***** This study aims to look at the relationship between self-control and compulsive buying of FIP UNJ students who use e-commerce applications. This quantitative research uses a research sample of 356 FIP students who use e-commerce applications with an age range between 18-24 years. The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling. The self-control measuring instrument used in this study is the Full Self-Control Scale instrument developed by Tangney et. al (2004) which researchers have adopted from previous studies. Then, for the compulsive buying measuring instrument using the Edward Compulsive Buying Scale instrument developed by Edward (1993). The results of this study indicate that there is a negative correlation between self-control and compulsive buying of FIP UNJ students who use e-commerce applications with a correlation value of -0.369. This means that the better the self-control ability of students, the lower the tendency of compulsive buying, and vice versa
