«Forest» crime in the Vyatka province in the 1870s – early 1890s

Abstract

Вводятся в научный оборот данные о месте в структуре региональной преступности правонарушений, связанных с лесным сектором, подсудных мировой юстиции и судебным инстанциям, сменившим ее в начале 1890-х годов. Исследуются количественные показатели, касающиеся нарушений лесного законодательства, входивших в компетенцию общих судебных учреждений. Дается социальная характеристика контингента осужденных за подобные преступления. Затрагивается вопрос о причинах распространенности «лесных» правонарушений во второй половине XIX в.The article introduces into scientific circulation data on the place in the structure of regional crime of offenses related to the forestry sector, subject to the jurisdiction of the justice of the peace and the judicial authorities that replaced it in the early 1890s. The article examines quantitative indicators related to violations of forestry legislation that were within the competence of general judicial institutions. It provides a social description of the contingent of those convicted of such crimes. The issue of the reasons for the prevalence of forest offenses in the second half of the 19th century is addressed
