UMA NARRATIVA DO TESTEMUNHO A PARTIR DA OBRA "O PÊNDULO DE EUCLIDES", DE ALEILTON FONSECA

Abstract

This article presents a brief analysis of the work O Pêndulo de Euclides, by the Bahian professor and writer Aleilton Fonseca, looking at the political aspects that run through the author's writing. These aspects concern the text, classified as a historical novel, which has a strong potential for testimony, capable of producing/revealing images that are still barely visible of the event that became known as the Canudos War. In this sense, we want to highlight the perspective of a writer who comes from the backlands, given that the history of Canudos had as its main witness the accounts and descriptions presented in the canonical work “Os Sertões”, by Euclides da Cunha, a work to which Fonseca shows himself to be both an ally and a critic. For these developments, the approaches of the German author Georges Didi-Huberman, in his work Images in spite of everything, as well as the conceptions of memory presented by the philosopher Jeanne Marie Gagnebin (2009) and the Nietzschean perspectives on “truth” (2001) are of total importance.O presente artigo apresenta uma análise da obra O Pêndulo de Euclides, do professor e escritor baiano Aleilton Fonseca, na qual realizo uma abordagem sobre os aspectos políticos que atravessam a escrita do autor. Tais atravessamentos dizem respeito aquilo que, nesse Romance Histórico, trata-se de um forte potencial para o testemunho, capaz de produzir/revelar imagens ainda pouco visíveis do acontecimento que ficou conhecido com a Guerra de Canudos. Neste sentido, pretende-se aqui pôr em evidência a perspectiva de um escritor advindo do povo sertanejo, haja vista que a história de Canudos teve como sua principal testemunha os relatos e descrições apresentadas na obra cânone “Os Sertões”, de Euclides da Cunha, obra a qual Fonseca mostra-se ao mesmo tempo aliado e crítico. Para esses desdobramentos, faz-se de total importância as abordagens do autor alemão Georges Didi-Huberman, em sua obra Imagens apesar de tudo, além das concepções sobre memória apresentadas pela filósofa Jeanne Marie Gagnebin (2009) e as perspectivas nietzschianas sobre “verdade” (2001)
