Enseñanza de estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual en el bachillerato. Propuesta pedagógica para capacitación de docentes en el uso de Pictoeduca

Abstract

Introduction: The teaching of students with intellectual disabilities in Ecuadorian high school is being affected by various challenges that impact the cognitive progress of these learners; although efforts have been made to train teachers, the need for continuous training and updating in inclusive education issues and the use of appropriate technological tools is crucial to maintain effective practices. Objectives: The objective of this study was to generate a pedagogical proposal for the training of teachers in the use of the Pictoeduca tool, for the improvement of the teaching of students with intellectual disabilities in the high school of the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Special Educational Unit. Methodology: A mixed research approach was used, with descriptive and field scope; a sample of a director and 10 teachers who serve students with intellectual disabilities were applied; 3 instruments were applied: a semi-structured interview, a questionnaire, and an observation sheet. Results: As results, it was found that teachers are aware of the limitations of a formative nature, in addition, they are willing to be part of training and to use a new pedagogical proposal that is in accordance with social, educational, and pedagogical realities. A proposal was designed for the training of teachers of the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Special Educational Unit, in the use of the Pictoeduca tool for the teaching of students with Intellectual Disabilities in high school, through a manual and a workshop. The evaluation of the design of the proposal showed positive results, with an understanding of the use of the Pictoeduca tool and the design of resources and activities. Conclusions: It is concluded that this tool has potential for teaching students with intellectual disabilities. General area of study: education. Specific area of study: educational technology. Type of item: original.Introducción: la enseñanza de estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual en el bachillerato ecuatoriano se está viendo afectada por diversos desafíos que impactan el progreso cognitivo de estos aprendices; aunque se han realizado esfuerzos para capacitar a docentes, la necesidad de formación continua y actualización en temas de educación inclusiva y uso de herramientas tecnológicas adecuadas es crucial para mantener prácticas efectivas. Objetivos: el objetivo de este estudio fue generar una propuesta pedagógica para la capacitación de docentes en el uso de la herramienta Pictoeduca, para el mejoramiento de la enseñanza de estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual en el bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Especial Agustín Cueva Tamariz. Metodología: se empleó un enfoque mixto de investigación, con alcance descriptivo y de campo; a una muestra de un directivo y 10 docentes que atienden a los estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual; se les aplicaron de 3 instrumentos: una entrevista semiestructurada, un cuestionario y una ficha de observación. Resultados: como resultados se encontró que los docentes son conscientes de las limitaciones de carácter formativo, además, están dispuestos a ser parte de capacitaciones y a emplear una nueva propuesta pedagógica que sea acorde a las realidades sociales, educativas y pedagógicas. Se diseñó una propuesta para la capacitación de los docentes de la Unidad Educativa Especial Agustín Cueva Tamariz, en el uso de la herramienta Pictoeduca para la enseñanza de estudiantes con Discapacidad Intelectual en el bachillerato, a través de un manual y un taller. La valoración del diseño de la propuesta evidenció resultados positivos, con comprensión del uso de la herramienta Pictoeduca y el diseño de recursos y actividades. Conclusiones: se concluye que esta herramienta tiene potencial para la enseñanza de estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual. Área de estudio general: educación.
