A Comparative Study Of Seismic Safety Of Reinforced Concrete Structural Systems

Abstract

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2008Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2008Deprem Yönetmeliği (2007) de yeni tasarımı yapılacak binalar için bir tasarım yaklaşımı ve mevcut binaların deprem davranışlarının değerlendirilmesi için ise, doğrusal olan ve doğrusal olmayan değerlendirme yöntemleri bulunmaktadır. Özellikle mevcut binaların değerlendirilmesi konusunda yapılan uygulama sayıları sınırlıdır. Mevcut binaların değerlendirilmesinde kullanılan yöntemleri birbiri ile uyuşumu ve bunların her ikisinin yeni bina tasarımında kullanılan yöntemle uyuşumu, Deprem Yönetmeliği (2007) nin uygulanmasında önemli bir hususu oluşturmaktadır. Bu tez çalışması kapsamında, bu yöntemlere ait özet bilgiler verildikten sonra mevcut bir okul binasının deprem performansının doğrusal ve doğrusal olmayan yöntemlerle karşılaştırılması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar gözden geçirildiğinde doğrusal yöntemin deprem güvenliği bakımından daha tutucu değerler verdiği görülmektedir.Seismic Code of Turkey (2007) which regulates buildings to be built in disaster areas includes a chapter (Chapter 2 and 3) where methods are given for reinforced concrete buildings to be designed. The code also has a new chapter (Chapter 7) where the linear and non-linear evaluation methods are given for seismic safety evaluation of existing buildings. Chapter 7 is introduced in 2007 and only a limited number of applications are carried out by using its requirements. Consistency between the results of the methods used for seismic evaluation of existing buildings is of prime importance. In the context of this thesis, after giving brief information about these methods, they are compared by considering the earthquake performance of an existing school building by linear and non-linear methods. The comparison yields that the results of the linear methods are more conservative than those of the nonlinear methods.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
