RANCANG ULANG ALAT PENGUPAS KULIT LUAR BIJI KOPI BERDASARKAN ASPEK ERGONOMI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIVITAS

Abstract

Coffee farmer in rustic of Singawang Kawakan , Singawang village Teluk keramat subdistrict regency of Sambas , West Kalimantan had difficulty in the process of stripping the outer skin of the coffee bens. Outer of coffee beans quite hard and slippery so the stripping process takes quite a long time. Usually the coffee farmers are using glass bottles, manual clamper and tools that using paddling systems using wood. The results obtained with these tools is not optimal and requires quite a long time. The purpose of this research is to remake  the outer skin peeler coffee beans based on ergonomic aspects to improve productivity in order to help the farmers in the area to increased production especially in the process of stripping the outer shell of the seed.This study uses anthropometric data that is designed according to body size farmers. This research also uses Nordic Body Map method that able to know the complain  musculoskeletal that farmers feel. Objects in this research are musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, accidents,  time efficiency and flawed of coffee seed that occur during the process of stripping the outer shell of the beans.The expected result of this research is to get comparison between the new tools and the old tools in process of  the percentage of stripping the outer shell of the beans such as work injuries suffered by coffee farmers in the process of stripping the outer skin of the coffee beans , fatigue levels using an old tools before work is 24% and 29.1% after works and with new tools before work and after work 23.2% 24.5%. Complaints perceived musculoskeletal coffee farmers using old tools before work and after work 24.6% and 37.25% using the new tool before work after work 24.9% and 27.3%. Using a long working time of 3.53 min / kg and 2.4 minutes using the new tool / Kg, Stripping Costs in the production of coffee beans using old tools Rp 340/Kg and using new tools Rp 120/Kg. Results flawed coffee beans in the stripping process is done by using a long 0,032 / Kg and using new tools 0.026 / Kg.Keywords- Tool skinner beyond coffee beans, Redesign, Ergonomics, Nordic Body Map, Productivit
