Odnos novinara i stručnjaka za odnose s javnošću – raskorak između poslovne ovisnosti i korisnosti

Abstract

Novinarstvo i odnosi s javnošću zanimanja su koja imaju mnoštvo zajedničkih točaka i često u praksi tijesno surađuju u svojem radu, iako se njihov odnos nerijetko definira kao odnos „psa i mačke“. Odnos ovih dviju profesija od samih je početaka bio kompliciran i težak. No, vremena i okruženje se mijenjaju, obje profesije napreduju, uzusi poslovanja u ovim profesijama se mijenjaju pa je za očekivati da se mijenja i odnos ovih prirodnih (ne)prijatelja. Zbog novih izazova javlja se sve češće mišljenje da profesija, novinari i praktičari za odnose s javnošću, ne mogu jedni bez drugih, bez obzira na to što se njihova zanimanja, ali i ciljevi razlikuju. Kako novinari, tako i praktičari za odnose s javnošću u konačnici mogu imati koristi jedni od drugih, no u svakodnevnoj suradnji, upravo zbog različitih ciljeva rada, može doći do problema, nerazumijevanja i u nekim slučajevima i do sukoba. S obzirom na to da praktičari za odnose s javnošću u svome radu trebaju novinare, kao i što novinari u svome radu trebaju praktičare za odnose s javnošću, razumijevanje potreba pojedine profesije je imperativ za postizanje kvalitetne i produktivne suradnje. Ovaj diplomski rad u obzir uzima praktično iskustvo u novinarstvu autora te kroz prizmu novinara praktičara promatra djelatnost odnosa s javnošću i ulogu praktičara za odnose s javnošću koju oni imaju u procesu odabira i nastanka vijesti.Journalism and public relations are professions that have many points in common and often in practice closely cooperate, although their relationship is often defined as a cat-and-mouse relationship. The relationship between the two professions, although undeniably interdependent and necessarily focused on cooperation, was complicated and difficult from the very beginning. However, times and environments change, so it is to be expected that the relationship between these natural friends (or foes) also changes. Due to new challenges, there is an increasingly common opinion that the profession, journalists and public relations practitioners, cannot do without each other, although their occupations and goals are different. Both journalists and public relations practitioners can ultimately benefit from each other, but in everyday cooperation, because of different work goals, problems, misunderstandings and, in some cases, conflicts can arise. Considering that public relations practitioners need journalists in their work and that journalists need public relations practitioners in their work, understanding the needs of a particular profession is imperative for achieving quality and productive cooperation. This graduate thesis considers the author's practical experience in journalism and through the prism of practicing journalists observes the activity of public relations and the role of public relations practitioners that they play in the process of selecting and creating news
