Anuncio y denuncia: El carácter profético del pensamiento donosiano

Abstract

This article sheds some light on the prophetic character of the thought of Don Juan Donoso Cortés, Marquis of Valdegamas (1809-1853), and its importance in philosophical and political reflection from the 19th century to the present day. Donoso, an outstanding figure of traditionalist and counterrevolutionary thought, stood out for his ability to announce and denounce, the two characteristic actions of the prophet, a person who, through signs or calculations made in advance, conjectures and predicts future events, but who, simultaneously, raises his voice to warn society about the wrong directions it is taking and the risks involved. The article explores how Donoso anticipated fundamental events such as the crisis of democracy, secularization and the gradual disintegration of Europe. It highlights his insight in addressing issues such as the relationship between religion and politics, the role of the state and the decadence of society.El presente artículo arroja algunas luces acerca del carácter profético del pensamiento de don Juan Donoso Cortés, marqués de Valdegamas (1809-1853), y su importancia en la reflexión filosófica y política desde el siglo XIX hasta la actualidad. Donoso, figura destacada del pensamiento tradicionalista y contrarrevolucionario, sobresalió por su capacidad de anunciar y denunciar, las dos acciones características del profeta, persona que, por señales o cálculos hechos con anterioridad, conjetura y predice acontecimientos futuros, pero que, simultáneamente, alza su voz para advertir a la sociedad acerca de los rumbos errados que toma y de los riesgos que esto implica. En el artículo, se explora cómo Donoso anticipó hechos fundamentales como la crisis de la democracia, la secularización y la desintegración paulatina de Europa. Se resalta su perspicacia al abordar cuestiones como la relación entre religión y política, el papel del Estado y la decadencia de la sociedad. &nbsp
