O TRABALHO DO/A ASSISTENTE SOCIAL NA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA: A SISTEMATIZAÇÃO DE EXPERIÊNCIAS A PARTIR DA ATUAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL EM ESCOLAS PÚBLICAS DO MUNICÍPIO DE JOÃO PESSOA-PB

Abstract

The present article aims to provide explanations about the work of the social worker in Education Policy, at the Basic Education level, more precisely in public schools of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education located in the municipality of João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba. Regarding the methodological characterization, the work is grounded in experiences narrated by social workers stationed in public schools during the post-Covid-19 pandemic period (2022 to 2023), through their professional records, unsystematic observations, as well as the support of bibliographic research, in order to provide theoretical underpinning for the analyses. The study method is centered on historical-dialectical materialism, as it is capable of exploring the contradictions of reality and the essence of phenomena. The experiences examined here point to the challenges posed in the professional daily life of the social worker in times of barbarism, commodification of Education Policy, and the struggle for the implementation of Law 13.935/2019, which establishes the provision of psychology and social work services in public basic education networks.O presente artigo objetiva tecer explanações acerca do trabalho do/a assistente social na Política de Educação, no nível da Educação Básica, mais precisamente em escolas públicas de Educação Infantil e Ensino Fundamental localizadas no município de João Pessoa, capital paraibana. Quanto à caracterização metodológica, o trabalho se fundamenta em relatos de experiências elaborados por assistentes sociais lotadas em escolas públicas, no período pós-pandemia da Covid-19 (2022 a 2023), através de seus registros profissionais, observações assistemáticas, bem como no suporte da pesquisa bibliográfica, de modo a fornecer sustentação teórica às análises. O método de estudo centra-se no materialismo histórico-dialético, por este ser capaz de buscar as contradições da realidade e a essência dos fenômenos. As experiências aqui analisadas apontam para os desafios postos no cotidiano profissional do/a assistente social em tempos de barbárie, mercantilização da Política de Educação e luta pela implementação da Lei 13.935/2019, a qual estabelece a prestação de serviços de psicologia e serviço social nas redes públicas de educação básica
